cory gardner of colorado, a republican. and on our side, michael bennet of colorado a democrat. bob menendez of new jersey, a democrat. and we worked out a bipartisan agreement among us that not one of us would have written. it was a compromise. in trying to meet the president's challenge of replacing daca with something that could be the law of the land and work. i reflect on that effort and believe it was a good one. it was certainly in good faith and it was bipartisan. and when we presented it to president trump on january 11 at 12:00 noon, i remember this time very specifically, he rejected it. he not only rejected that bipartisan solution to the crisis he had created, he rejected five others, bipartisan proposals to try to resolve the crisis that he had created in eliminating the daca program. so here we are just two days after his march 5 deadline. and where do we stand? well, the situation has been complicated by three federal courts who have been asked to review president trump's decision abolishing daca. two of those courts have issued injunctions and said to the trump
