cory gardner, martha mcsally, susan collins, they are up for re-election where the president's approvalater and all four are facing tough re-election campaigns. with me is gerald side. thank you so much for joining us. walk us through why you believe these four senators could pull the whole party in the direction of impeachment if they do so? >> i think they're the leading indicators. if there's going to be a republican break in the senate, you would need it to be a big break, 20 senators who would move against the president to convict him after impeachment in the senate. that's a lot. it would start with these four, they're all up for re-election, they come as you said, from states where there's a deep divide on opinions about donald trump, but the overall, he's under water which means you have more people in their states who disapprove of donald trump's performance than approve of it. they would be the most likely to move against the president. but they all have really difficult equations to work out in their own heads, i think. let's say they vote against the president and he survive
