contra costa county health officials will explain today why you should never handle bats and other wildlife. a 34-year-old contra costa man died of rabies two months ago while working overseas. they think he contracted the fatal disease in march when he came into contact with a bat in southern contra costa county. it is the county's first rabies death in nearly 20 years. >>> hundreds if not thousands of patients could be at risk for a rare meningitis infection. a tail end steroid drug is being blamed for an outlook of fungal meningitis in six states including right here in california. symptoms are headache, nausea, dizziness and fever but they are also linked to other medical conditions. >> that makes it different and perhaps some patients and certainly some doctors wouldn't think of meningitis right away if the patient presented primarily with those kinds of symptoms. >> 35 cases of fungal meningitis have been reported across the country and five people have died. >>> we are less than an hour away from getting the latest employment report from the labor department. economists predict the u
