a wildfire still burning in eastern contra costa county. the marsh fire started yesterday afternoon and doubled in size through the day and night. allie rasmus live in contra costa to bring us an update this morning. >> as of last check around 9:00 last night, the marsh fire had burned 250 acres and it was 20% contained. an hour from now more or less we should find out if that containment number has gone up overnight. a live picture in the meantime of one of the homes that burned in this fire yesterday. this is outside of apsra drive and marsh creek road. we're showing you this live picture now. three structures were also consumed by the flames. you can see flames in this picture but we're told that's from a propane tank still on the property. firefighters this morning on the front lines have told us so far that the weather conditions overnight were favorable. they have been able to stop the forward progress of this fire and that's why we're hoping and waiting to see if those containment numbers go up in the next hour. aircraft played a big

first, in contra costa county, a fire is tearing through the hills of clayton. it destroyed at least one home. the marsh fire started on marsh creek road at the base of mount diablo. evacuation orders in the area are still in effect with more than 100 structures threatened. the fire has grown to 250 acres and right now it is only 20% contained. kpix 5's christin ayers reports from the fire lines where helicopters and cal fire's new 747 air tanker are battling the flames. >> reporter: firefighters say this is the kind of blaze that spreads rapidly in grass, fueled by hot windy weather even aggressive air and ground attacks could not keep the flames from consuming homes and forcing evacuations. chopper 5 captured the worst of it, flames going on a rapid run in clayton, overtaking hillsides and engulfing homes. >> at one point there were, like, 50-foot flames off of those trees climbing the hill straight towards that house. >> reporter: he and his wife were lucky. this is their home on marsh creek road. the fire cut a path around it. >> everything around the house
