in the beginning i brought junk food and safe way and costco and the cheapest thing to buy for the youth meetings and three years into my time that students actually asked me to buy fruit and vegetable it is for meetings instead and i remember being stunned and 16 and 17 year olds were asking to change the food but i think it had to do with the change in curriculum anung change my purchasing behavior. hi to think about buying fresh fruit affordably and i realized in chinatown you could do it and a lot of the stores pay the same rent as businesses in union square but they're able to sell fruits and vegetables and produce affordably to low income residents in the neighborhood and still succeed economically and for those of us -- like me that grew up eating junk food, a lot of mcdonald's, kfc and this is what my parents did and it's good to have that education. i appreciate what kenneth had to say and we had to learn how to eat and be healthy. >> and i know a number of the speakers are from the youth institute and the project and educating me as well, and also not only the food guardians bu

i went to a small pet food store to buy bags because they were big bags so we went to places like costco orbecause these are 50 pound bag and is you're going to search around for parking on chest nut street and you find a few blocks away and you have to lug that thing in the car and it's not really practical, but what i think is, you know, the competition, it's a different kind of product and if there is a store that has parking and is going to make it easier for that customer who needs this particular supply, in fact, the man who was a pet food wholesaler made it clear that some of the smaller pet stores carried products that weren't in pet food express or any of the larger stores. it's a different market and they can co-exist, and like anyone else for all kinds of products all shop in a neighborhood hardware store and once in a while, i'll go to a big box store where you have to get a huge quantity of something, but most of the time, it's not worth making the drive to try to do that. as far as the particular site in mind here, in an ideal world, this is -- it has always been a formula
