[applause] >> thank you very much for that warm introduction. a pleasure to be back at the heritage. the book, "churchill's first war" is a story about what i think is the making of winston churchill. then talk about courage, his ability to prevail in adversity. this fascinating, but neglected. in churchill's early life almost lays the foundations for the man churchill became in his life. when i approach the subject, like most people when i thought of young winston, i thought of his exploits about war, has escaped from captivity and all of that. in fact, when i was in research i did not do is look and the only reference relates to the church in afghanistan is the opening sequence where you have a picture of young winston on the great horrors and the general is saying to one of his young officers, who is that what the fool on the grade. hook it nowadays. look at his buddy had blown off. indeed, the reason young winston went out to the northwest frontier of the british empire, an area t

coughlin's claims, they found that they were validated. and, unfortunately, too many of those who had suggested their problems committed suicide. it is a little late. because dr. coughlin brought this up, who was admonished, bullied and intim datad for speaking -- and intimidated for speaking about the ethical lapses at the v.a. where's the oversight hearing on that here? you see, if we're not going to hold the v.a. accountable, the quality of care isn't going to rise to the level that our veterans deserve. other areas -- the v.a. wasted $3 billion over the past ten years because they failed to secure competitive market prices for surgical implants. that's $3 billion. that's documented. that's a g.a.o. study showing it. g.a.o. did that. we didn't do it. we didn't find it. and, oh, by the way, at the end of the year when they had some money to spend, they bought $600,000 worth of artwork instead of putting it into additional doctors, cleaning operating rooms, additional people to secure clearances on disability. one of the things, by expand

her long-time political adviser chuck coughlin said, quote, it's been her proclivity in the past to focus on the priorities she wants them, the legislature, to accomplish, and this was clearly not part of her agenda. jan brewer's office quickly responded to that report telling "business insider" governor brewer hasn't yet made a decision. she will take the time necessary to thoroughly review and evaluate the legislation before taking action. tomorrow, jan brewer is expected to meet with the three republican state senators who voted for the bill but now want the governor to veto it. they've changed their minds. governor brewer has until saturday to make that decision. in the meantime, most of the business community continues to oppose it. in addition to apple, american airlines, marriott and the arizona super bowl host committee, today the nba's phoenix suns, the wnba's phoenix mercury, as well as intel and delta airlines, all released statements against the bill. in its statement, delta also mentioned georgia, which is considering a bill similar to arizona's sb-1062. delta said, if passed

chuck coughlin, a political adviser to the governor of arizona, she has got a tough decision to make. we'll see what she decides to do. thanks very much, chuck, for joining us. >> thanks, wolf, for having me on. >>> three arizona lawmakers who originally voted for the law now say they want the governor to veto it. they say the law was supposed to protect religious rights, but that opponents have now made the state look bad. joining us now from philadelphia is our political commentator, michael smerconish. thanks very much. she is expected to veto the bill. was this the only decision she could come to, fwicgiven the ses threats of economic boy costs to the state of arizona? >> well, i'm shocked that she hasn't already vetoed it. as a matter of fact, i predicted, wolf, on radio today that i expect by -- this is just a prediction. that by the close of business today, she will veto this. because the longer that it festers, it's not only a black eye for arizona, and for governor brewer, but it's also negative publicity, i think, for the gop brand at a time when the party can ill afford it.
