it is concentrated just in ocean county in new jersey. much of the jersey shore has not gotten a drop of rain during the day today. and won't get any tonight, either. but this one area has seen hour after hour of these thunderstorms. now, they finally started to shift down to the south. there's toms river. seaside heights just to the east of that. so obviously they have moved out of the area. but the damage is done. 4 to 5 inches of rain. well now we're starting to look farther to the south. long beach island. right here. there's barnegat light. so the upper portion of long beach island like harvey cedars for example, getting pounded with the rain. so this is the area that i would like to see some traffic cameras. barnegat as you can see back inland. as long as these things move you just get heavy rein and then it's out of here. but if they either stall right over the same spot or keep moving over the same area then you get this kind of thing happening. this is a radar estimate. 4 to 5 inches of rain. right over the toms river to seaside

southern prince george's county. northern and central charles county and fair southern st. mary's county and then into the northern neck of virginia. another little band of some showers here on the eastern shore. this is on a track to come just to our south here. the future weather going forward. that shower activity will break up and sunshine breaking out around noontime. then another band of showers may get going here in the eastern pan handle of west virginia into the shenandoah valley by later this afternoon. then that pretty much breaks down as we get into the latter part of the afternoon and evening hours, passing just west and south of washington by later this friday night. temperatures are in the 50s for the mountains all the way to the bay. reagan national now is at 55. and hour by hour today, not much warming compared to what we had yesterday. should make it up to around 60 by noontime. after we get those showers south and west of us breaking up, a little sunshine in the afternoon. ought to make it into the mid 60s as we dry out during the afternoon. great weekend

growing delays in prince george's county. the first major accident we have has one lane blocked on the outer loop at 50. the delays by my estimates, i've been able to count a three to four-mile delay on the outer loop. you can see police still on the scene regarding an auto accident. north of that on the inner loop of the beltway, just south of the bw park kaye from sky 9 -- parkway from sky 9, another accident. the delays we anticipate will extend for a while so drivers need to be patient or consider alternate routes because it seems like the situation has gone from bad to worse. as we take you on the western side of the beltway from clara barton parkway to university boulevard, this is on the inner loop, about a 13-minute commute. no issues on 66 this morning as you make your way from centreville into town from fairfax county parkway to 20th street northwest you're looking at about a 25-minute commute. over to you. >>> right now speaking of bad to worse, parts of texas are under water this morning. the aftermath of record b
