the county fire is tearing through yolo county. it has moved into remote napa county. this here is new video for you of the county fire. last night at 11:00, the fire had burned 8,000 acres, but it's since more than doubled in size to 22,000 acres. fire is spreading smoke across the bay area. there are mandatory evacuations in place for parts of yolo county. the fire is burning near the community of gwenda, areas in napa county are now under advisory evacuation orders means folks could be told to leave homes at any moment. some under evacuation orders wait until the last minute, though, doing all they can to ensure their homes remain standing. firefighters say with this erratic fires, delaying evacuations is not the best idea. >> yeah. fire break around that fence, and -- but, when you get a fire this bad, that's not a lot that's going to stop it. >> people get a false sense of safety because they have the sensible space, but when the fire starts spotting a half mile, a mile away, winds pick up, and then, you know, nobody's safe. >> we are bringing in scott mcclain on

overnight, the fire started pushing west into nearby trinity county. nbc bay area's melissa colorado joins us live from redding with more. hi,anoushah, people in t redding neighborhood havwait waiting for the go-ahead from authorities to be allowed back into is their neighborhoods. even though it's absolutely heartbreaking to see face to face what these homes look like, these folks still want to come out here to assess the damage and see if there's anything they can salvage. now, authorities made a tragic discovery in the northwestern redding region today. the body of another victim was discovered bringing the death toll of the carr fire to six. the shasta county sheriff says this person was given the evacuation order to leave, but according to his family members, he refused to follow it and stayed behind. authorities say half a dozen other people are still reported missing. the fire is still growing. it's almost burned 90,000 acres. jack haringer from mountain view bought a house southwest of here. he was monitoring the flames from his rooftop until h

county fire in yolo county, 66 degrees right now. we're monitoring the winds because they were northerly winds. although at the surface we are seeing a shift from south-southwest, some of those winds aloft are still blowing from the north. that could still keep a lot of that smoke blowing towards our direction, at least through tonight and into monday. come tuesday, even for the napa county, lake berryessa area, we are expecting a better shift in our favor in terms of the winds. that will move a lot of that smoke off to the east, but it might not be good news for the san joaquin valley and sacramento, which it will start blowing in that direction. as far as the pawnee fire, 67 degrees current update. in terms of cloud cover, not a lot of cloud cover but expect various areas of clouds of smoke out there. don't be surprised by that. in terms of the air quality, there is still that wildfire smoke advisory. i have not seen any alerts extended through tomorrow, but that could all change depending on these winds overnight and into monday m

we have the marsh fire burning in contra costa county. crews have stopped that fire from spreading but evacuations are still in effect. there is also the ferguson fire near yosemite and the cranston fire in riverside county. but this morning the biggest concern is the carr fire burning near redding.
