. >> kyndell: news 3's craig fiegener joins is live from the regional justice center with more. craig? >> craig: the preliminary hearing in this case was put off until early next year. the reason somewhat unusual. this is a case we first began to cover mid-november. it involves an allegation that a teenager tried to run down a metro cop who was approaching that teenager's vehicle during a and we did see him in person in court morning. his attorney told the judge that he does know the attorney knows the officer, scott hinkley, who pritchard is accused of trying to harm. the incident happened mid-november near las crus court. pritchard was speeding and had expired registration when officer hinkley approached his car. the officer ended shooting at the car when he allegedly raced toward the officer in what the officer down. the judge decided there's the appearance of a conflict, not an actual conflict, but the appearance since the previously court appointed attorney to represent pritchard knows of the officer who fired the shots at pritchard. because of that and in an abundance of ca

news 3's craig fiegener joins us live from the u.s. 95 in charleston. that's where it all happened. craig, nobody was actually hit in the incident right? but this was a moment of high drama for some reason police say they did not give chase after seeing a car that they said had expired registration and a car that was speeding. that was at 11:16 last night. but they did find the car later and what followed was a shooting, a police shooting where several shots were fired at that suspect vehicle. overnight in a neighborhood where many people have been sleeping, a teenager was arrested for trying to run down a metro cop. civic. police say the driver was seen speeding and that the car wasn't registered. officers didn't chase the car but they found it near these homes and they say the 18-year-old driver was still inside. >> officers pulled into the cul-de-sac, turned on their emergency equipment and attempted to contact the occupant of that car. when they did this, the vehicle drove at a high rate of speed out of that cul-de-sac at the he discharged his weapon at the vehicle striking it se

campus monitor facing multiple charges including sex with a student, take -- let's go out to craig fiegener who is live outside of the rjc. craig? >> craig: the suspect's name is ati poni. he has worked at the clark county school district since october 2015. in fact, worked at a school up until monday morning. he was arrested monday afternoon. he had been on on campus security guard at del sol academy. he is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage student a that school. we were in court as he made his first court appearance since being arrested monday afternoon in this case. poni made that appearance. bail was set at $520,000. poni's 35 years old. the clark county school district says he's been employed with the district since october 2015. the exact details of the crime they did not reveal but they did confirm poni is suspended without pay pending an internal investigation and he faces charges of sexual assault of a and how it unfolded, that hasn't been made public yet. poni does return to court on december 14th when he is scheduled to be arraigned. before then his public defender today d

that's where craig fiegener joins us live with more. we can see behind you that wall has a giant hole in it. apparently the two were argueing when she jumped on to the car? >> craig: that is exactly what we're told. i want to take you in for a closer look. it will help you understand exactly what happened in this crash. it happened in the 8:00 hour this morning. and started with a man and a woman having an argument not far from here. argument where the woman grabs on to the vehicle. it was a small suv. and she is dragged while the vehicle is in motion to where this crash happened. you see the wall right there. it is crushed in. the suv lost control and turned here on this street just behind the las vegas convention center. and when that vehicle crashed the woman flew into the wall. incredibly she is expected to recover. expected to recover. the person driving that suv we're told is going to be charged with dui because police say he was under the influence. as for the relationship between the two? they say it wasn't a boyfriend girlfriend

. >> michelle: let's bring in news 3's craig fiegener with more on this from the regional justice center. this is how many days now has this been going? is this day two? >> craig: this is day four of this trial. it's expected to move into early next week. maybe as far as wednesday next week. day four when the testimony wraps up today. it's been a trial very much full of high emotion. yesterday there was testimony from a mom who told the court that the clark county sl bullying but the district did nothing to stop it. this is video from inside the court yesterday. mary bryan told the court that bullying was constant. she testified her son, his friend were harassed with homophobic slurs. they were physically attacked. she said one of the boys was stabbed in the groin with a pencil. she said her son complicated suicide and researched ways to die online and often woke up in a panic. >> he would wake up in the screaming and shouting. he would still be asleep but would be sit be up or standing in the room. >> craig: back here live. we're outside the regional justice center. the testimony today

our craig fiegener explains what's being done for the thousands of guests sent elsewhere. >> reporter: what an incredible chain of events for the paris hotel. we're along the las vegas strip. for 1 hours last night and stretching into thisor people were told to get out. they spent the night in other places, rather than their hotel rooms. but this morning, after work, it was declared business as usual, the lights back on. this is phone video from inside paris las vegas just after power was cut to the entire property. there were 3,000 people in the hotel, the casino. at 9:45 in the morning on thursday, everyone was told to get out. wasn't safe to come back for 12 hours. this morning, caesars placed blame on a construction crew working in the basement. >> they were down there trying to fix issues in the subfloor below the boiler room. then were authorized to be there. they weren't authorized to cut through the main power line. >> reporter: by 6:00 a.m. this morning, paris was back in business. many were overnighted hollywood and caesars and they were not charged for last night and were t

news 3's craig fiegener joining us live from the clark county commission. the southern nevada water authority, that's the entity that has a lot of concerns about this project moving forward. >> craig: and with good reason. the clark county commissioners seem to be surprised that mgm which owns and privately owned and operated monorail system. they want to extend it by one mile. they were surprised they were in today's meeting seeking approval of conditional use permit which would pave the way for construction. the southern nevada water authority says wait a minute there's one little problem here. representatives from mgm grand, the hotel, were seeking that use permit to pave the way for construction. but there's a massive 90 inch water supply that is underground that would be underneath one of the -- at least one of the very the southern nevada water authority does have a meeting with the construction workers next week to work out this problem with the construction and the pillar, the support beam that would be over this very large water supply underground.
