the vigil last night, craig, and people were honoring not just the victims but those survivors who also helped so many others. you mentioned this critical care nurse, kayla millerout celebrating a friend's 25th birthday in her struggle to survive, she may have ended up saving others. >> reporter: it was chaos eyewitnesss say, sheer carnage in dayton's historic oregon district. >> i literally looked down, and everybody was on the ground. it was so loud i mean, i just freaked out and started running. >> reporter: taylor mulberry was inside this crowded bar overnight. she and about a dozen terrified bystanders took cover in a bathroom, not sure if the people banging on the door to get in could be the gunman. >> it sounded like the gunshots were coming closer i thought that they were just going to come into the bathroom. i just thought, like i was -- it was over >> reporter: you didn't think you were going to survive. >> i didn't think we were going to get out of the bathroom. >> reporter: kayla miller was also inside the bar celebrating a friend's birthday. >> i look down the sidewalk and just see a row of -- a row of bodies people shot. some alive, some not >> re
