newman's wife crissy, who announced their separation last week, reacting with just this on twitter, omgdt jr., whose father died during the final lap at daytona in 2001, writing, big prayers for newman. a lot of prayers for newman. in a statement nascar says newman is in serious condition but amazingly doctors have indicated that those injuries are nonlife-threatening. overnight we saw video of fans outside the hospital in daytona beach celebrating that news. >> that video is so difficult to see. and you talk about fans and fellow drivers also weighing in. and they're saying that a wreck like this is never good to see, but like you said, he's going to be okay. >> he's going to be okay. some racing fans, also there's a little fallout from this, because the winner, mr. hamlin there, he celebrated, doing doughnuts, which is what the winner typically does after winning a big race like daytona 500. he was getting some pushback. he was under fire for that by the fans. so he put out a tweet last night saying, first and foremost i want to give well wishes and prayers to ryan newman. i had absol
