ktvu's cristina rendon is live with more on what we are learning. >> reporter: sonny anderson is back behind bars and he has been in and out of jail since 1999. that is when his criminal history began starting with an animal abuse conviction that petting zoo. he was convicted of having sex with a goat and mutilating it. and then in 2009 sonny anderson was convicted of theft of an elderly and he beat an elderly woman. he has five other convictions, reckless driving and burgly to name -- burglary to name a few. in the case of ivan cruz's death he will be charged with second degree murder. sonny anderson led authorities on a high-speed chase tuesday and in the process he hit and killed ivan cruz who was in a crosswalk. sonny anderson was found hiding in a garage last week and ivan cruz's family was present for the announcement of the arrest today. a cousin expressed gratitude to authorities for taking sonny anderson off the streets while they grieve ivan cruz's death. >> may ivan rest easy as we into struggle and fight the fact that our brother is gone. >> reporter: and the family says t

ktvu's cristina rendon is at cal where students are mourning the loss of a peer with a bright future ahead. >> reporter: word of his passing has made its way through campus as students are grieving. we can tell you zachary bradley was a 20-year-old student. he was science smart with a bright future and he was aspiring to be doctor and he loved music. he was at a concert at oracle arena on halloween night this past friday and things took a tragic turn. police and authorities are telling us he fell 20 feet from a elevated and restricted area to his death and they are investigating the circumstances around his fall. preparations are underway to take him back to his home state of arizona. we talked to students who are sorry for what happened. they are sending their condolences to had family and we are learning that the fraternity will be releasing a statement tonight or tomorrow and preparations are underway to hold a vigil or a memorial this week. we reached out to oracle arena to talk about the circumstances and they are leaving this investigation into the hands of authorities. live in
