cristina alesci, thank you. joining us now is political analyst april ryan and margaret talif. i re-read everything this morning, so make sure it didn't get jumbled in my sleep. but there's a big picture to all of this. until now, no business connections have been reported between senior administration officials and members of mr. putin's family or inner circle. and nthat may change? that changes now, because this outlines not illegal, but people feel like this is completely muddying the water. this is the swamp, if you will, margaret. how do you see it? >> yeah, we knew during the campaign, of course, that president trump's family business had had some conversations or involvements over the years in russia or with russian business people. but this takes the conversation to a new level. and when you start to look at all the various footholds inside the administration that had some sort of business relationships with russia, you see a more complex picture. now, what is it all add up to? that's completely unclear. and the point that secretary ross is trying to make is, so what? y

cnn's cristina alesci joins me now.dication the trump organization is running into trouble? >> there are certainly problems in the north american market for the trump organization. the owners of this hotel clearly believe the trump brand is hurting business, not helping it. and a similar dynamic happened in toronto where the trump name was taken off of a property and a deal negotiated there. as you know, trump licenses its name to these buildings. doesn't own these units. it doesn't own the physical property. but when these deals fall apart, obviously there is some portion of the revenue that trump organization may have gotten that it will no longer get. we don't know how much exactly the trump org is losing off of this deal because the terms of the deal are private, but it certainly seems to be taking a hit. look, i'm hearing from sources who tell me trump organization was really focused on expanding overseas before the president -- before trump ran for president. and that part of its business model has essentially fal
