and this is crocker amazon as basketball and open play and le grande half-court. the reason i bring this up, i don't think $250,000 for a one-time expenditure will be enough. this is just one district and there are several districts throughout the city, and i think this is probably a need for annual expenditures which is what i am suggesting for my supervisor and i hope that is also amended when this goes forward as well. also, on the second item, which is the lower crocker area converting the dirt lot: this has been a problematic areas since the soccer fields have gone in. there are cars parking on the right. we would like to see landscaping rather than extended parking, which has been suggested, paving. because there -- mclarens is right on the edge, but if you add more parking there will just be more problems, damaging the sprinklers and the grounds and that is a drain that has been destroyed. so i would prefer whatever the details are, that they include landscaping. thank you. >> thank you. >> catherine. >> now it's afternoon, commissioners. the five-year plan

hosting spring trainouts for girls ages 11 to 13 this saturday, february 21st at crocker amazon park from 10:00 a.m. to noon. they will be on diamond 3. baseball instruction and practices will be held two days per week and every weekend from march to may, culminating in your participation in the first girl's baseball national tournament in orlando florida, this summer. the team will be coached by our very own rocky henley, who was a member of colorado rockies women's baseball team and they had a couple of try-outs already. i went to one and it's so inspiring and there are some really good baseball players out there. we invite everyone to join the recreation and park department in celebrating reboots national day of unplugging. in march, it's on march 7th, reboot national day of un[phr-ulg/]ing unplugging is only once a year to draw attention to the world around us and reconnect with family, friends and most importantly for our purposes, nature. it is true that our kids today are spending over 7 hours a day behind a screen of one form or another and less than 30 minutes a day outside.

it fell on power lines. 2:30 today, next to crocker amazon playground. it's not the only tree causing problems. we have team coverage, live from the richmond police station. >> reporter: hey dan. it was business as usual at the richmond district police department until that big tree landed against the building. those inside the police department said it felt like an earthquake or possibly lightning. i tell you, today, we have seen a lot of saws. some residents on crescent avenue were without power after this tree knocked out several power lines. pg & e crews responded. no one was hurt. crews began cutting the tree once they were sure there were no live wires. the heavy winds caused a branch from a eucalyptus tree to fall. not far away this fallen tree stopped traffic. as of late afternoon, up to a dozen trees and large limbs that have come down. there have been no injuries reported so far. some vehicles have been damaged. there's a tree that came down on the cable car tracks on high street. we sent crews out there right away. >> reporter: after 1:45 one

i live in the crocker amazon district. i have known ike for several years and as i was thinking of what i wanted to say on his behalf i noted a thread running through some of the questions you were asking. it was obviously the intent of those what you were looking for, what your concerns are, and so the one thing i want to talk about ike is both his character and integrity. and i think more than anything else that will determine whether or not he's a person who is going to cave to particular interests or pursue his own self-interest in a public role such as this one. my experience with ike has been in something relatively thankless. we have served together for several years in our church in what is called a parking and traffic team which means that every sunday in the mission district we've been out there in all weathers, in multiple locations, dealing with whatever comes our way. it's not a role that a man in his position with his professional expertise would naturally gravitate to, but one of the things i see we're looki
