now it's 47 in andrews. 49 in crofton. the only lonely 50 is here. most folks in the 40s now. in fact you're teetering on into the 30s where the temperatures will be 40 degrees. and here is a look at radar. the wide view. you can see the rain and showers moving on in primarily west. they will zoom in now and you can notice it is green. most of it is too warm to stay as snow. but look at the yellows popping up. pretty intense. it will be drifting right towards frederick where you have a heavier downpour. and we'll zoom in just a little bit. around brunswick on the west side of 270 now. and a pretty good area of rain. you don't see too many yellows we're seeing change overs now back to pawpaw with some colder air that will begin to mix in. showers are just in time for the commute. oh joy. a few flurries and snow showers are possible overnight. but no roadway problems. temperatures are above 32 all night. now, snow showers or flurries are still possible on saturday and still possible on sunday. the area of low pressure will be developing off the southeast coast staying far enough

that's one of our colder spots with 46 in laurel, college park, and crofton this morning. upper marlboro, a comfortable 48. outside good visibility here. got a temperature of 49 at reagan national with a windchill of 43 this morning. the humidity, boy, it's low, only 41%. we have mild air working all the way up toward us. the carolinas down south. colder temperatures but nothing horribly cold. there's some chill in the central and northern rockies but the arctic air is generally bottled up in canada right now. the problem us for, if you're a snow lover like me, we want to get some snow. we just don't have a lot of cold air. enough cold air for snow in new mexico and parts of the texas panhandle and oklahoma. this pressure is moving east. look at all the moisture in texas, louisiana. could abwet mardi gras -- could be a wet mardi gras in the carolinas. as it heads toward us tomorrow afternoon, that's when our rain chances will saturday to go up. today you're looking at the futurecast. sunny through 6:00. then tonight clouds roll in toward tomorrow morning so we start clear

a nice facility as well out there in crofton. don't know my son plays some ice hockey. 32 feels like 25 this morning under the clouds after national. we've got to moisten that up. even if it does reach the grund the amount of moisture is on the light side as the big storm is breaking up. here's the big picture. still moderate snow this morning. the heavy snow in fact across parts of minnesota and back into michigan now as this is lifting to the north. but if this pulls away from the other part, the precip gets shredded coming across mountains and you can really see solid here and then it starts to really break up now in southern virginia. where we had a little bit of light snow out toward roanoke this morning. we may get a little bit in a few spots south and west over the next couple of house. and then -- hours and then the focus probably by lunchtime will be north and west of town with the winter weather advisories in effect. but again this is light stuff. not going to be much here. an inch or less of snow and sleet in those are

around here this morning, we've got 24 over at andrews and crofton and bowie. it's 23 in germantown this morning. centreville, good morning with dulles at 24. 24 very popular number waldorf, over in alexandria, springfield and dumfries as well. as we look outside, we've got clear skies out there. pretty morning across the district. a cold one, though. 26, partly cloudy. northwest winds at 7 make the windchills at 18. the cold is in kansas city at 25. this is why they're expecting all the snow here. but look at warmth in texas. near 90 in brownsville. a big storm is coming across out of new mexico, in toward texas. had a batch of snow last night, yesterday afternoon. dumps 6 to 8 inches of snow in spots. another piece of energy through new mexico. hits the texas panhandle. it's exploding. heavy snow. some of these areas seeing 2 to 3 inches an hour snow rates in northern arkansas. they're looking at half an inch or more of ice. ice storm warnings there. around here, we can't buy a snowstorm, snow lovers. this will be no exception as the moisture heads our way. w
