. >> thank you for convening the conversation with cronin bird and dr garcia. we will hear from john grimes and jerry moremoto of the department of public health. >> good morning. i am here as the manager who sees the crisis programs -- and we have the assistance -- but actually directs this -- we come through a lot of contractual agreement. we have looked at issues that affect the number of people we're working with. what we found is a degree of trauma. we want to talk about how to work with people, and we see ourselves as first responders. the hospitalization and some issues, we have the ability to work with people, with six languages. last year, we coal located a number of issues together to see how we can work more efficiently. we actually have a mobile crisis team, and we have pitchout crisis team, that will evaluate children to the age of 18. this took part in ensuring and convening the task forces. there were a number of suicides to the school's last year. this works with families who are affected by committed to violence. we have a number of programs, t

his former legislative aide, cronin berger, supports this. many lgbt veterans support it. some of them came to committee, including bob [unintelligible] , an extraordinary leader, who served as president of the harvey milk lgbt democratic club. the veterans affairs commission supported it, including its out president, john caldera, as well as the american legion alexander hamilton post 448. i want to note how inspirational it will be for young lgbt sailors at to see harvey milk's name on the side of a neat -- military vessel. harvey used to talk about the kid from altoona, pa., and inspiring young lgbt people to have hope and know that they can succeed in life. many of us oppose war. many of us chose not to pursue military careers. many lgbt people have made the choice to serve in the military, even when it was illegal and dangerous to do so. i can think of no better way to support those people, to support our community and the many more lgbt young people who will follow in their footsteps than to support the naming of this ship as the u.s.s.r. the milk. thank you. >> than

[applause] >> it is thank you very much. it is a pleasure to be here today. we're proud to be hosting fema and appreciative of the flexibility of fema coming to city hall. many of you received an early notification of this six weeks ago of the upcoming session. it was not originally going to be at city hall. we do not always think of our federal partners as being flexible, but i can attest they are. here we are today in our beautiful building hosting you. we're so proud to be able to do that. on a personal note, i want to thank one of my staff members, dave eberly, who was instrumental -- [applause] in working with nancy's people making it a reality today. mayor lee stole my entire speech. [laughter] just off the cuff, he is so amazing. he really gets this. as city administrator, he was in charge of our recovery efforts. he began the whole dialogue in san francisco about resilience. he gave many examples already of what we have been able to d

if you listen to senator cronin's testimony the other day, at the end of the list, it says because he's enforcing these anti-voter fraud law that is have been put in place. of course these laws are meant to keep african-americans hispani hispanics, others, students from voting. eric holder is a very competent attorney general. it's interesting that we -- attorney general mccasey, who came during the bush administration, he oversaw something called wide receiver, dhfs a similar operation, by the way, to this he wall street briefed and did nothing. when eric holder found out about it, he stopped it and had an investigation. he said i want to work with you and cooperate. he gave a serious proposal on thursday. the question now, martin, is can the committee chairman, mr. issa say yes, i mean, agree to a yes answer. i've got a feeling if this is all about politics, he will continue to say no. >> instead, i'm sure. we had this disrespectful behavior to the attorney general in committee. we had a heckler today interrupting the president. it was announced the president would speak, he was not g
