that is a big concern for communities in the santa cruz mountains. with sunday's approaching storm, it's going to be a bit scary due to the fires we had last year, we still are going to be experiencing some mudflows and slides and you know everyone's got to be prepared for that. many people in boulder creek were preparing friday, getting groceries, gas and other essentials ahead of the storm. definitely fuel for the generators because loss of power is always issue here and the mountains, boulder creek and other nearby communities were scorched by the ccu lightning complex fired last year, and now areas remain filled with half burnt trees and debris were concerned that their burn scar may have may create an issue for us with heavy rainfall that we may actually see some sort of mud floor debris flow. cal fire says they have done assessments after every fire in northern california to evaluate the danger of debris flow, going with biologists and ecologists hydrologists and figure out what the most vulnerable areas are of the burn scar that includes the s

for the santa cruz mountains, things get started in the early afternoon.rainfall totals could be extreme across the north bay. location that will be in the rainfall the longest of those high rain rates. notice by 9:00 a.m., still 23409 much there. i think that trend is probably going to continue through about 5:00. there's your rain shadow in the santa clara valley. in the north bay, 3 to 4 inches of rain. and toward the diablo range and santa cruz mountains, it will be common in the mountains, but the higher peaks could go higher. so for the timing, it's going to be in the north bay from about 9:00 a.m., then into the afternoon pushing into the central bay. by the south bay around 7:00, you're beginning to see the rain fill in then toward the end service the monday -- we'll finally catch a break. as we move forward we'll sione going chances of showers tuesday into wednesday, but not with the same atmospheric river connection we are seeing right now. second half of the week things do start to dry out, as the rain chances keep the totals a bit farther north
