well cruz in santa cruz county used jet skis this morning to rescue people stranded in their homes and felton grove neighborhoods began to flood in the san lorenzo river rose past flood stage. a lot of residents used sandbags ahead of the storm. some say that despite their efforts, water was still close to coming into their homes. sheriff's deputies are also going door to door to evacuate some homes and some people. well, they refused to leave. they did have to come in with the boats and rescue a couple of people. i heard there's one person down the road here who has their 90 year old mother living with them, and they brought in a sea do to get her out. um, and there were some people in the this apartment that these apartments over here evacuated and there was one man they went and got from there. so i know there were a couple there's our neighbors refused to leave their still there. the water has receded some of this new time, but authorities are still telling people to still stay away. the city of watson bill has issued evacuation orders. this map was tweeted out by the city. all of

this should be heading towards santa cruz. we were on our way to felton to report on the evacuations and the flooding and the rescues that have been going on there. but this is as far as we got just about two miles outside of glenwood drive. now what we're looking at here is the aftermath of a mudslide now when we first saw this much slide, it was about 25 ft. high we can't tell in diameter because it's not safe enough for us to go around . that's why this road is closed off. but when you take a look at all of this debris keep in mind. this is just small stuff here. and when i pick it up, it's totally entrenched with precipitation. these trees cannot hold much more water. they're very, very wet and soggy . and those are just small pieces. you can see the bigger pieces over here. caltrans has been out here. chp has been out here. in fact, i talked to one officer. and here's what he had to say. we had a slide of mud and trees that fell onto south 2017 completely blocking the roadway just south of glenwood drive. how soon do you

it sounds like cruz moved in quickly. yeah it's been a busy 24 hours here in san francisco, as you can possibly imagine. we're at the intersection of slowed and unit pro sarah. this intersection was closed from about nine o'clock last night until after noon today, while crews had to try to clear a downed tree that impacted munich service. if you take a look over here behind me, you might be able to see that there is still one closed lane. that's one of the south bend lanes on unit pro sarah and this again all this work because of a downed tree in the area. a day and a half of rain on top of a wet weekend turned some of the streets of san francisco into rivers and finally proved to be too much for a cypress tree on slowed. the tree came down wednesday evening, blocking the intersection and dragging down 500 ft. of money lines. community trains, the roadway is closed. we had to bring ukraine in last night to start to move the tree, and then we took another tree out as well. just for safety considerations. so our crews are s
