santa cruz mountains to ben lomond more than seven inches of rain. a lot less than to san jose and the tri-valley and san francisco picking up more than three inches of rain. all that causing the flash flood warning just yesterday. now storm ranger is getting a bit of a break. there's a view of it. our nbc bay area storm ranger, our mobile doppler radar, and a refresher. it normally is parked right here atop san bruno mountain, which gives it that great perspective across the central bay. and tonight it has been picking up a few light showers crossing over the marin county coastline. but look what's happening here offshore. another weather system here approaching the coast will reintroduce those rain chances during the day tomorrow and increasing during the afternoon into the evening. and you see that area right there, northwestern sonoma county. there is a chance we may be dealing with some isolated thunderstorms tomorrow as another plume of atmospheric river moisture aims in more towards the central coast as we move forward into monday and tuesday.

scotts valley, santa cruz areas south of downtown san jose.n the day in the 40s and low 50s, and by lunchtime the rain at times continues, especially for the lower peninsula southward and our highs tomorrow. it's going to be a bit chilly, upper 50s to low 60s around the bay area. so here is the rainfall estimate. and look what we have on the map. the areas in red. it's not the north bay and it's not the central bay. it's areas really there to the south, santa cruz mountains down towards gilroy could be looking at at least 1 to 2in of rain from monday on into tuesday. so far tonight, what we've seen of the showers mainly light showers moving into the north bay, but you can see the moisture plume there to the south. that's what's going to be driving the higher rain rates moving forward into the morning around the santa cruz mountains, morgan hill down into gilroy, scattered showers for areas north of san francisco. so as we get into monday evening, rain rates might let up for a bit. and then they're going to fill in again as we get into tuesday

maximizing rainfall in the santa cruz mill mountains.ight to moderate rain continuing into monday, and then some more lingering showers on tuesday, and you add it up , and we are talking close to 2 inches of rain on the high end of the spectrum. it will come in waves, so i don't think it will lead to significant flooding concerns reemerging. the existing flooding problems are enough. and snow will be piling up in this year, anywhere from 2-4 feet. some of the higher peaks basic 5 feet . the winter storm warning goes all the way through 4:00 on tuesday, so this will be a multi-day snow event in the sierra ahead of the thanksgiving holiday, but if you are ready to be done with this unsettled with no pattern the 6-10 day outlook that takes us through thanksgiving weekend shows a strong signal towards drier than normal conditions for the bay and that continues in the 8-14 day timeframe which takes us through the first full week of december. it doesn't mean zero rain, but we are unlikely to see additional atmospheric rivers headed our way as

when you go farther south into the santa clara valley and especially the santa cruz mountains, that'scking up on some rain that is hitting the ground and that's the case through the rest of this evening and into early tomorrow morning as well. the bulk of moisture with this particular weaker atmospheric river is missing us to the south. let's look at futurecast and track how things are going to evolve as we head through tonight and tomorrow. there is that next surge of moisture that is mainly soaking the central coast, but it's close inform to send some rain into the santa clara valley and santa cruz mountains, moves out before the sun comes up tomorrow morning, doesn't mean we're completely dry, still a few hit-or-miss showers dotting the radar through the first half of tuesday. beginning around lunchtime the showers are much more miss than hit. we just don't lose all the cloud cover yet. the gray skies overhead keep temperatures a little below average. skies gradually clear out tomorrow night. the pattern holds from wednesday through the four-day weekend, talking about morning fog g
