i'm crysty vaughan. >> rochelle: and i'm rochelle dean. we're live from main and gervais. your time is 6:30. >> crysty: if you are just waking up and hearing the pitter pat of rain on your roof, grab an umbrella. >> rochelle: but the good news is you don't need a coat. temperatures are pretty high for december, and i think they will follow that trend as we progress through the day. here's meteorologist jonathan kennedy with more. good mororng. >> jonathan: good morning. we are talking about the famously hot new year, looks likes the heat will stick around with us the next couple days. a warm start this morning and we are also seeing rain. the rain right now, relatively light at the moment, not seeing the heavy rain which is good news and we did see good downpours earlier, we have that moving on right now, likely see the rain chances, we will dial it back mid to late morning and get to more high heat and humidity. still warm, 73 as you are waking up and heading out. we are seeing that for much of the area, couple spots in the 60s, but all in all everybody way above normal. n

i'm crysty vaughan. >> rochelle: and i'm rochelle dean. we're live from a fairly wet main and gervais. the time's now 6:00. >> crysty: we hate to sound like a broken record, we will have more rain. lexington rain looks like it has moved out but it is still here. >> rochelle: you better grab the umbrella before you head out. we'll turn things over to jonathan kennedy. >> jonathan: good morning. a humid start for us today, light rain, temperatures well above normal, most of us in the mid-60s, we are seeing the same thing over the last week or so, incredibley warm, highs around 80 yesterday. a potential rainy set up for us today. into the future for us, it gives us a good picture of what is likely to happen today. this line of storms lining up along the mountains comes across and sets up pretty well for us to see good rain. i think we will be on one end of the spectrum, a lot of rain for the upstate and charlotte but could see good downpours of rain today. 63 with a few scattered showers later on tonight and we stay with the warm air. notice t
