as the csi 300. see the biggest drop for chinese stocks, down 4.3%, that we have seen since what looks like february of 2016. is it really that bad? concern dueent-up to the holiday week? or is this more of a concern about the outlook, the discounting mechanism of stocks in their profitability the potential going forward? >> as anna mentioned earlier, part of this is certainly due to the fact but the market was off last week. but i think if we step back and we think about growth in china out into next year, the chinese market is down, asia's market down, copper is down, currency is weaker, chinese bond yields are lower, all year to date. if you know nothing else, all four of those things are all confirming the idea that growth is going to be weaker over the coming 12 months. i think that is something that should continue to matter to braod investors, as long as those things continue to point to slower growth. it is something that is weighing on emerging markets. the reason we are underweight e.m. equ

we have seen the china market turned negative, there was a rebound in the session but the csi 300 downf 1% so adding to that for .2% drop from yesterday. south korea out of action for a public holiday. japan resumed trade after its public holiday yesterday. quite significant selling, the nikkei closing down by 1.2%, weakness in australia. a seventh straight session of losses for the msci asia-pacific index which looks at it will close at a 15 month low. we have been watching currency moves closely in the asian session and you have seen that movement in the japanese yen higher for a fourth session contribute to that weakness in japanese stocks. if we can have a look at some of those moves, the end up for a fourth session with a handle of 100 teen -- 113.10. the renminbi was at that low yesterday, more strength coming through in the currency moving toward the 6.29 and we have seen the better performers in asia trading just slightly high against the dollar but that is a technical show that the seven-week low was perhaps to battered for that emerging-market currency. turning now to the fir
