ctv's james torres live from the refinery, just heard from a county supervisor. what's the latest this morning, james? >> well, andre, we haven't seen any flaring from this refinery since late last night. in fact, that supervisor tells me that they haven't had any flaring since about midnight earlier this morning. now, the refinery is working to get all its operations in systems, all of that affected by the power outage back up. and running this morning. and they are hoping that no flaring will be required to get that done. but we'll show you what everyone saw yesterday at the peak of that hours long flaring those what looks like flames coming out of those four different stacks. and that huge black smoke pouring into the air. the refinery notified the contra costa county health department by about four in the afternoon. and those flares and the smoke coming from them activate a level one community warning system alert. that's more of just a notification to the public. it doesn't mean you have to do anything more to stay safe, but the bay area air quality manageme

ctv's bailey o'carroll reports.e heard an explosion and then a few minutes later, we heard eight fire trucks. and i went out onto the deck and we saw a house completely engulfed in flames. neighbors in the small town of canyon, a town that just a couple hundred people call home, are working to clean up after a fire destroyed a home of one of their own. we're a pretty tight community. it's very small egress and is very difficult. so our phone tree was activated right away. they, according to neighbors, the woman whose house burned, was able to evacuate safely. they say her two dogs also made it out. the fire sparked up just after 10:00 last night in firefight. fighters said it brought challenges with it. access issues very narrow roads, very limited water supply . so that was the reason for the additional resources. fire crews called for backup from cal fire, the east bay regional parks and the san ramon fire protection district, in addition to the home, this fire also bned into vegetation. it's unclear if fire crews
