." >>> it's been a year since cumberland river yod overflowed the banks and flooded nashville and now residents are now dealing with rising waters. they say this is not a natural disaster because they live outside of the flood plain and this water estimated to be 11 feet deep has been around for more than two weeks. and people say the city needs to do something to fix this problem. nearly 6,000 pieces of property are damaged in the last year infloodings not designated flooding zones. >>> parts of arkansas dealing with major stores. governor surveyed the scene and flooding in the area in the eastern part of the state. this weekend, he declared 57 counties as disaster areas. look at the high waters drowning lanes on interstate 40. the arkansas highway and transportation department says that it might take two days for those waters to recede. >>> last week's tornadoes took the homes of a couple in pleasant grove alabama. they shared the home for 49 years. the only thing left standing a. hallway where they were hide when the storm hit. a lot was destroyed -- when the storm hit. a lot was d

cumberland, calm winds, variable wind, north readings, a bit of a northwest reading.west readings, they're all over the place right now. they are very light. we're not looking at a windy day, even though we had blustery storms role through yesterday. we will not be dealing with anything quite like that this afternoon or even this morning. 48 # degrees right now, right in line with all the other temperatures around the region. 48 in detroit, 60 toward kansas city, 53 in atlanta. no drastic changes up and down the eastern seaboard. focus on kentucky today because of storms rolling through. they could have a wet track for the kentucky derby today, but the showers are again going to be moving into our direction. we'll see a chance of showers as another system approaches tomorrow. as you see, our computer model, at least this particular one, does not even have shower activity in the immediate forecast for the next 48 hours. so that's a good thing. don't be too freaked out by the chance that we have showers for mother's day. it will not be a big part of the forecast. 74 tod
