but in cumbria a st bernard called daisy needed to be rescued herself. the four—year—old collapsed while walking down scarfell pike which is england's highest mountain. a 16—strong mountain rescue team were then scrambled to come to her aid. the mission took five hours. daisy‘s rescuers carried her on a stretcher over obstacles that included a waterfall. well, richard warren is one of the team who brought daisy down the mountain. it started with the dog was feeling very tired, pain in the back legs, so very tired, pain in the back legs, so the owners dialled 999 and cumbria police asked for mountain rescue and when we heard it was a saint bernard we thought, that sounds like a large dog, and a 55 kilograms dog is quite a challenge for the team, notjust to carry, but to actually get it to lie on the stretcher. well, she did take a lot of coaxing, and we like to have our casualties lying down, because if there is too much weight high up, it becomes unsteady and we managed to get her laying down and her owners coaxed her down and we strapped her very gently
