cumbria police say they've arrested a man in his 60s.tt gave us the latest from cumbria well, this is where the police were seen yesterday, just off this busy road here, the a66 in cumbria. and what cumbria police have told us is this, that both they and the paramedics were called to a farm just before 3 o'clock yesterday because they had reports of a child having been seriously injured in a firearms incident. when they arrived at the farm, they found an eight—year—old boy with serious injuries to his face and head. that's how it's been described to us. they also found a gun. they arrested a man at the scene, a man in his 60s. he was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. the boy was airlifted to hospital. now, tragically, that eight—year—old died in hospital overnight. and the police have now told us that the man in custody is being questioned on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter. so that tells us the nature of the investigation so far as work continues to establish the exact circumstances of this. we're waiting
