it prevents the army corps of engineers from dumping dredge sediment from the cuyahoga river into the river from the state of ohio. it containts harmful contaminants, possibly polluting fish and wildlife. lake erie is one of ohio's most freshes and important resources. it would be he irresponsible to reverse the environmental gains we made with the lake. which is why this provision is so important. additionally, this bill includes provision to expand the ability of law-abiding citizens to possess a firearm on army corps of engineers land so long as they are legally permitted to carry a firearm in full compliance with state law as they are allowed to do on other federal parks and federal lands. this provision merely brings the army corps recreational property in line with the rules of the parks in the fish and wildlife service. finally, this bill includes a full congressional repeal of the harmful err of the waters of the united states, executive overreach that expanded federal jurisdiction beyond navigable waters. these provisions are important in ensuring the federal got does not imp

to a resolution with the army corps of engineers over the disposal of dredged material from the cuyahoga rivers federal navigation channel. while the channel depth is maintained each year, the uncertainty from year to year duss not provide the confidence necessary to northeast ohio's communities and it does not give the port of cleveland the ability to conduct long-term planning without considerable and avoidable risk. to help private and public entities work with the army corps of engineers on dredged material management plans, my amendment ensures the army corps of engineers works diligently with local partners to conduct dmmp's in an efficient manner. my amendment directs the army corps of engineers to consider alternative uses for tools to collect dredged material, lightening the load on contained disposal facilities and increasing their life spans. the port of cleveland and many other parts of the country rely on these dredged material management plans. they should not have to wait as long as four years for these studies and plans to be completed. in the water resource and reform de
