cuyler? >> in your hearts go out to our friends, neighbors, family members in southern california, but it is a beautiful day here in the bay area. lots of sunshine out there. lots of reasons to be thankful and reasons to be smiling right today. to that. we have this today. wind is obviously calm here. we're doing, alright, things are fine. temperatures are soaring, which is part of what's happening with the offshore wind and also the high pressure that's in control. you can see it's 76 degrees in santa rosa where it's 78 a couple of minutes ago. 66 in san francisco. we've got some low 70's inland here, san jose about 71. so obviously well, above average for an example of santa rosa should be 57 degrees this time of year. so way, way above average. as we zoom out here, high pressure. that's what's keeping us warm and sunny. unfortunately, its proximity to low-pressure is what is causing this wind gradient that is fueling some of those santa ana winds that are causing so many problems. >> we do

and we're going to turn now to cuyler grogan. she's been watching this and cuyler. this is just going to go from bad to worse. well, i don't know that that's going to go from bad to worse. i can tell you the conditions are not good. they are experiencing what we're experiencing, which is offshore wind. they call them. >> santa ana winds, we call them diablo winds. the same effect of that wind that is rushing offshore. now we are under this wind advisory that goes through today into tomorrow morning. but as we zoom out here, you can see that the wind advisories go throughout the state and then you get southern california. they're under a red-flag warning. we talked about this a bit yesterday. the problem here is they have not gotten the rain that we have gotten. so they have all of the dry brush that is out there. think of that at the end of the summer, how dry it is. and then it's been added to the fact that they haven't gotten any rain. so if we look at rain totals and i was looking this up downtown san francisco so far as gun, 10.3, 9 inches of rain downtown los a

let's check in with cuyler for more on our weather. hi there. yeah, we've got blue skies out there today. expecting above average temperatures. once again, you can see just how blue we have a heck of a day. temperature wise yesterday got up to 78 degrees in santa rosa. 75 in redwood city that broke a record. a daily record conquered and san jose got up to 73. we tied a record as the foes airport at 71 oakland beat a record by hitting 70 and liver were hit 70 degrees as well. so obviously a banner day for temperatures. when you consider santa rosa hit 78 in normal this time of year is about 57 already sitting at 62. so we are above average. 61 in san francisco. 69 down in san jose. so obviously today, again, we're going to have another one of those warm temperature days. when does a nice and calm here? you do still see that northerly direction and just blue skies wall to wall today. as we zoom out and kind of take a look at the pattern, you can see that that high pressure still very much in control of our forecast. what low-pressure system moving

like that and the weekend cuyler looks like it's going to stay that way. >> well, it is yes, but you have bring that. we're going deal with that in the early morning hours of our friday morning. but right now it is beautiful out there. and yes, we are definitely a bit warmer than we were yesterday. in fact, if you're up in the north bay, you're, you know, 10 degrees warmer than we were this time yesterday. that kind of reflects how it's changed a little bit. and if you look at these temperatures, take a look at the south bay in particular, sunnyvale, san jose city about 66. they were 67 a little bit ago. >> we're up to 62 in the north bay. you can see places like a word right now. fremont in the low 60's to so really nice out there. storm tracker 4 confirming that sunshine, but and there's always a you've got to zoom out and you see where the cloud cover and the rain is. it's really headed up to the pacific northwest. we're gonna catch is the end of that system. and we're looking at about a 10 about a quarter of an inch of rain. a little bit higher. total up in the north bay, mostly
