kira all right, cynthia, thanks. we are followining breakg news out of oakland, where police are investigating several early morning burglaries and whether they are connected. around 230 this morning, opd first responded to the extra mile gas station at 17th and castro streets. an employee told police that a group shattered the front door. as you just saw, made their way inside and stole the cash register. the employee was not hurt. then about 30 minutes later, just after 3 a.m, it's believed the same group broke into a safeway in the ridge shopping center on broadway and pleasant valley avenue. employees were inside at the time. they told police the group broke down the door into the office and also stole a checkout register, among other things. no one was hurt. and about an hour later, police responded to this smash and grab at it is what it is on san pablo avenue. after the thieves attempted multiple times, they successfully rammed the car through the security gate and gss doors and ransacked that smoke shop. at l

all right, cynthia, thanks. we begin this morning with a bay area connection to president donald trump's campaign promise of mass deportations. the coast guard is now being used to fly undocumented immigrants out of the country, and the efforts are being led by the 11th district, based in alameda. the coast guard has already conducted several operations out of san diego. the planes flew the unauthorized immigrants to texas in coordination with u.s. customs and border protection. from there, the coast guard says the department of defense will transport them internationally. in his first week back in office, the president signed a slew of executive orders on immigration, declaring an emergency on the u.s. southern border, as well as seeking to stop children born in the u.s. to some immigrants from gaining automatic american citizenship. aederal judge has temporarily blocked that order. meanwhile, attorneys for both undocumented immigrants and those with protected status are saying their clients are petrified about

thanks so much, cynthia. well, there's new pictures this morning of immigrants in handcuffs flown out of the united states. and as scott had mentioned, this is the white house actually posting these photos showing these off. essentially the new white house press secretary posting them on social media, saying the deportations have begun. now the president has promised millions of people will be rounded up. the photographs show just a few dozen boarding a u.s. air force cargo plane. now it says davis on the tail. so the plane comes from arizona, but we don't know where the picture was taken or who the people are. the white house press secretary, though, saying president trump is sending a clear message to the entire world if you illegally enter the united states of america, you will face severe consequences. now, do keep in mind the u.s. deports people all the time. the statistics office at dhs says 4 million people were deported during the biden administration. i suspect you didn't hear biden's press secretary
