the fact that cyrus vance has gotten involved, i think that raises the stakes for the christie administrationa really meaningful way. >> well, who doesn't want a piece of that. >> what can't get a piece of this? there are myriad entry points. >> it's when you have a by-state agency like this and there are a lot of prosecuting officials that can get involved. chris christie built his political reputation by being an aggressi aggressive prosecutor. so i'm not surprised that you're seeing new york getting involved in this and i think it also reflects how the governor's office has been a step behind in responding to this scandal. they didn't appreciate the legs that it would have. the fundamental reason that people are interested in this story nationally is that it's so simple. it's not that the lane closures was of national importance. it says something quite specific about the way that the governor managed the state of new jersey that i think is compelling to people. and so it's going to have legs and people are going to get involved where they can. so, yeah, you're going to see mushrooming. >>
