but for folks with cystic fibrosis like michael, it is like they're breathing through straw. imagine that, trying to run a 5k, five kill lombsters, to be able to breathe through a straw effectively. to still run distances like that is truly, truly remarkable. but that's what he does. earlier this year he completed, as i said, the new york city half marathon. one of the people who ran with him was my son christopher who is a try athlete in his own right, he is 28 years old. a great runner, he also like michael can run me into the ground. i am proud of them both. but michael was diagnosed during a screening, i think, just three weeks after he was born -- three weeks old, and he was diagnosed with this disease. his mom says that she was shocked. to her knowledge, there weren't any members in her family on her side or her father's side that had cystic fibrosis. but this was a diagnosis made three weeks into michael's life. imagine that, three -- imagine that, three weeks. jennifer faced some scary unknowns as sierra leoned more, including average life expectancies for those who h
