a student from d.c. was injured and a student from waldorf, maryland, was killed. >> reporter: by all accounts he was a standup student and athlete at thomas stone high school where he graduated just a couple of years ago. let's go to a picture of the victim. brandon carroll was shot in the stomach and killed this morning near frostburg state university where he was a sophomore and basketball player. police say it involved a dispute among students who did know each other. brandon lived in waldorf. we have video showing where he lived. no one was home at his house. his family did leave earlier presumably to go to frostburg. brandon graduated from thomas stone in 2008. we are told he was a standout basketball player and captain of the team. police did make an arrest, a 21-year-old student tyrone hall has been charged with murder. he is accused of shooting and wounding another student, a southwest d.c. resident. that student is expected to survive this attack. the university issued a statement today. it say
