d.c. police continue to investigate the suspicious death this morning. investigators found the body of a southeast woman in an apartment along the 4200 block of fourth street se off just moments after her adult son jumped out of a window. courtney robinson joins us live. another family member could be involved. >> that's right. another son is a person of interest in this case. they say they cannot find him at this time. they are asking for your help. as police investigated, scarring dumpsters in the area around the cascade park apartment complex, neighbors are stunned, saying they never saw any warning signs. >> we never saw anything in this particular area. >> officers described the scene as gruesome. for days the body of a mother had been inside the apartment she shared with two sons. yesterday officers believe one of the suns who is intellectually disabled jumped out of the second-floor window after being insulted. he ran downstairs to this neighbor's apartment for help. >> somebody has

so right now 68 in d.c. we have 64 in manassas. 68 in frederick. 59 up the mid-atlantic for new york city and 55 in boston. but look at richmond, they are 70 degrees already this hour. warmer air well to the south. they were into the 90s down here yesterday. this is what we're going to get moving our way as we head into the later part of the week. we're going to get this southerly flow and that will boost our temperatures and we'll see a big difference from where we have been. so low pressure system will slide through to the south, chance of those storms into the course of this afternoon and into this evening. so once again be prepared if you are going out. ridge of high pressure behind all of this so if we move through into about tuesday through thursday, we'll get a benefit of that. that will hold us up stead for some sunshine. and then we have to keep an eye on a back door frontal system moving through and a coastal system off the carolinas but the ridge of high pressure could keep the coastal low at bay

he's due to appear here in d.c. superior court to be arraigned in this incident that happened, was discovered yesterday on fourth street southeast. court documents that we have obtained tell that the victim suffered multiple stab wounds. however, it is unclear at this point because of the level of decomposition of the victim's body. but those wounds appear to have been administered to the face and the neck. we are also told -- we also learned from court documents that the son who is a witness told a neighbor that, quote, my mother is dead, she's been dead for a long time. he also went on to tell a neighbor that, my brother did it, my brother hit me, my brother killed my mommy. another witness tells in court documents how that person had been in that apartment before the body was discovered and noticed that they did not see the woman who died but they did see christopher martin, the man who is the defendant, and that he had a wound on his hand which he attempted to conceal. we are waiting for his arraignment on secon

derrick ward joins us live from d.c. superior court with dalts on this. >> reporter: there have been some significant developments in that and they have brought us here to d.c. superior court. police yesterday arrested 24-year-old christopher martin. he's due to be arraigned here on second-degree murder charges. it is believed that martin is another son of the victim. police were called to the scene at that apartment building at the 4200 block of southeast street. police were able to talk to the person that went out the window. police entered the apartment and found the body of the woman. she hasn't been positively identified yet nor has the cause of death been publicly released. however, police investigating that case did develop a person of interest. that person has turned out to be christopher martin, who is believed to be the other son of the victim. now, what remains to be seen is the cause of death, the reasons for that death and the circumstances by which a child would kill his parent. apparently that is what thes
