abortion lawsn d.c., maryland and virginia, they're all different. so let's start with d.c. see w things are shaping up there. d.c. has one of the least restrictive abortion laws in the country. abortions don't require a licensed physician and they don't ha to be performed by a doctor in a hospital. maryland, however, a bit more restrictive. there women have protected access to the procedure, but it's required to be performed by licensed doctors, and at least one parent or guardian has to be made aware before a minor has an abortion in virginia. that's the most restrictive area in our region. we have limited access to abortion in virginia. women are required to wait a full day after counseling beforg havi an abortion, and many in the pro-choice community think that adding restrictions is a way to deter the procedure. pro-choice organizations now trying to make sure that they get candidates in office this november to removese the kinds of roadblocks. a we h -- an election this year that actually creates a prorihoice majoty in the general assembly. we can move quickly to actua
