d.c. council is exposing under age drinking, quote, remarkable. and councilman jim graham followed up by asking tough questions at a human services committee hearing. andrea mccarren joins us more with what has transpired. >> i have been called worse, but some interesting information came out of this hearing. first, abra's director acknowledged that last weekend's arrest of the owner of town square market was the first arrest by metropolitan police of a liquor store operator. in the last 14 months, we have learned that only one business has had its license revoked. 35 others have had their licenses suspended. during that same time, abra sent 67 warning letters to first offenders who were caught selling to someone under age. and ten minors have been arrested for having fake id's. now abra promised the council to review and revise the penalties related to selling to minors. they have not been updated since 2004 and we will keep you updated on that as well as the on going debate at the d.c. council over whether to place legal responsibility on the un

d.c. council chairman wants to clean up the language. bers marion barry and david catania got into a heated shouting match. chairman brown tells the "washington post" he wants to enforce a code of conduct that will prevent members from using profane language during a public meeting. he wants to be able to remove a member from a meeting if that member uses inappropriate language. >>> in maryland, the battle over legalizing same-sex marriage moves to the state senate. the house of delegates narrowly approved a same-sex marriage bill on friday. the bill is expected to have an easier road in the senate when it is debated and put up for a vote this week. the senate, you'll recall, passed a similar bill last year. governor o'malley says that he will sign the new measure into law if passed. >>> a new poll says the majority of virginians are not on board with several laws up for discussion. the christopher newport university "richmond times dispatch" surveyed more than 1,000 people this month. the first issue, virginia's one handgun a month law.
