d.c./maryland we are told when this fire was essentially beginning that dc fooir fighters were also called to and were on stand by as ntntgomery c firefighters began their firefight here. there was a neighbor, an alert neighbor across street who tells me thathe saw some sparks showing from the house across the street and by the time she got o the pho from dispatch it was essentially engulfed in flames. we do know that firefighters went inside and tried to do search. they found two victims inside, two adults. they brought them out, tried to revive them but sadly they did die as a result of their injuries. as we look now live at the scene we are still very much in a very active investigation going on right now trying to uncover the cause of the fire and what may have caused it. it appears investigators areerot ruling outps a space heater or fireplace as what sould have caused this, but the official cause under investigation at this time. we'll bring you more updates though as we get them. live from bethesda. i'm justin finch, news 4. >> justin, thank you. this morning we are also keeping any

d.c. it is a state board of elections, virginia, maryland, new york. while they have secretaries their jurisdiction does not cover elections. we work closely with the organization that represents the boards, the national association of state elections so we work hand in hand. my members cover a lot of issues, not just elections. and so for those who either don't have elections under their responsibility or some of these issues had not gotten nearly the attention that they deserve over the last couple of years because we have been very focused on elections and election security and building some of the relationships that needed to be built after the 2016 election. because our elections are so decentralized, right, they're run in local jurisdictions all over the country, we talk about it being a benefit in a couple of ways. one is that it makes the process much harder to interrupt from a malicious actor because you have different processes and procedures. so without one centralized system you have to figure out a bunch of different ways to interfere with
