jane: dade lee miller has the details. who is this guy and what exactly is he accused of?alking about 25-year-old ahmed hah sane abed, he is am immigrant from afghanistan, and it is expected he's going to plead guilty in one hour and 15 minutes' time to a number of charges not the least of which is planning to blow up the new york city subway system. according to authorities, he was working with-and-a-halfy bull zazi, another defendant who has pled guilty. allegedly, the two men were planning to blow up subway trains coming to or from new york's time square as well as grand central station. they were planning to blow themselves up in the center carriage to cause the greatest amount of damage and, jane, it is very likely that we're going to see this guilty plea in just a little more than one hour's time because zazi has decided to plead guilty. jane: he's also said to have other accomplices, what's going on with that? >> reporter: there is a third man who has pled not guilt to all of these same charges, and we have no indication at this time that, in fact, he is going to ch

since its inception in the year 2007, miami-dade county's interagency helped stem the tide of medicare fraud. it has gotten more than $220 million in court-ordered restitution to medicare from defendants in 87 separate cases. the task force has saved medicare approximately $1.75 million in phony claims submissions. but, madam speaker, there is much more that needs to be done. the bill that ron klein and i have filed today will help give law enforcement the tools necessary to make even more arrests and to crack down on fraud in a more efficient and effective manner. it will direct the secretary of health and human services to provide real-time access to data regarding fraud that will then be given to local law enforcement officials. the klein ros-lehtinen bill directs the g.a.o., the government accountability office to follow up with medicare contractors and report back to us in congress with recommendations to make this system work even better for seniors all across the country. i thank the speaker for the time. and i thank judge poe for the time as well. i yield back, madam speaker. t

alison has recently been named as the top outstanding school youth volunteer for the year for the miami-dade county public school system. our superintendent of schools presented her with this impressive award at miami's jungle island earlier this month. as a senior at miami beach senior high school, alison has volunteered in numerous capacities. she has served as the president of the miami beach chapter of the junior state of america. she has served as producer for the nonprofit group 1308 productions. she's also known for her work as part of skynews and the creator of the rock the vote concerts an shows in our area. i can personally attest she was a fabulous host to my recent congressional visit to miami beach high. as an elected public official, i understand the great effort and personal sacrifice that comes along with trying to make a difference in our community. the time alison has spent and the care she's demonstrated are truly beyond her years. all of us in south florida are fortunate to have someone like alison who gives so generously of her time and energy to our area. this award is
