dagen mcdowell is on that this morning. dagen: good morning.inventories of crude oil, despite concerns about production coming out of venezuela. the tensions with iran, rising inventories have powered an 11% drop in crude oil prices since they hit a nearly six month high in late april. u.s. stockpiles are up 8% in the first four and-a-half months of this year many you mentioned 2016, how stockpiles are climbing at the quickest pace since going back to that date. well, back then there was such a build in supplies of oil, the cost of crude dippedde dipped ba barrel. now it closed near $59 a barrel. we don't expect that kind of a price decline. this is good news for drivers. if you look at gasoline prices in the united states, $2.82 a gallon is the national average. that's lower than a year ago. it was close to $3. don't expect much more of a drop in gasoline prices. one of the problems is, there's a buildup in crude supplies because the pipelines are in the united states, getting the crude to the refineries, it's backed up. we don't have enough p

joining me to break it down, dagen mcdowell, former presidential candidate, steve forbes, and former this morning. >> great to be here. dagen: so much going on, maria bartiromo, i'm trying to read your mind. maria: i'm looking at the china story. i think it's just appalling that the chinese have backtracked on anything that the countries have been working on. >> what's amazing is that the market isn't down more given how much the chinese have backtracked. if the markets believe this is going to blow up, you would see it down 1,000, 2,000 points, not a few hundred. maria: markets don't want him to do a deal unless it's a good deal, do you buy that? >> yes. the market feels like as the end of the day they'll come to a deal. this may be one of the things, the chinese try to grab something attend, realize it won't go to work. go through a dance and coul back and cut a -- come back and cut a deal. >> even the agricultural community that hurd hurts from e trade problems, they're sticking with the president on this. they know in therm this is necessary to not let china continue to bully us.

looking at accuracy and impact on privacy and civil rights, joining the conversation this morning dagen mcdowellll street journal assistant james freeman and washington examiner kiana love. it's interesting what a debate has formed around this bus on the one hand there is implicit bias in some facial technology, one thing that people are fearing that the technology will set people up for being wronged, certain biases there. i saw pictures of certain technology. the more information in data makes it better, but what do you think is debate around facial? >> well, i think it's good that amazon shareholders vote today keep innovating. i think this debate is probably one about how much power we want police to have, for example, in terms of a foreign policy concern, you don't necessarily want this available to authoritarian governments but i think taking this political issue and trying to battle it out as a shareholder, amazon, it's a wrong place, that's a company, we benefit from innovation, we want it in united states and we should note that amazon is one of those tech companies that's happy to work

joining me to break it down, dagen mcdowell, kevin kelly and pwc partner mitch rochell.g the qualcomm situation. that has wide-ranging implications especially when it comes to 5g. if you remember when qualcomm and the ftc settled, intel completely pulled out. 15 minutes later they pulled out of the entire 5g modem chipset market so qualcomm can have that. now you have the department of justice coming in and saying ' violating the sherman act and you have to renegotiate and we'll nut a monitor for seven years. this is going to hurt the administration when they're trying to impose a lot of their licenses and whatever technology licensing to china. maria: tell me about the monitoring for seven years, this is really significant. >> they're going to put in a federal monitor. bernstein, i was reading about this, expect that qualcomm will appeal and ask for a stay. and so we don't know if this is going to actually happen. what the monitor will do, is actually make sure that qualcomm is not doing exclusivity deals, is renegotiating contracts. this is pretty interesting. because

joining me to break it down, dagen mcdowell, former white house communications director, anthony scaramucciublican strategist, aaron he'll morelmorehere. you're just coming off your salt conference. what did you learn from the money managers and hedge funds this year? >> i think people are cautious about the trade situation but also understan understand why te president is going in the direction he's going. i think this has people worried at our conference last week, maria, is the stock market volatility and lack of liquid at thiliquidityin the market. from november to december, down 14, beginning of the year up 17, now down 3 and-a-half, four. people are worried that we're starting to see the aftereffects of the volka rule. the principal capital has been taken out of the market by the banks and all that's left is electronic trading. maria: i don't think they're all that worried. i don't know if they're underestimating the china t threat or they're believing that president trumps is a deal man and he will get a good deal. the markets, they begin real nervous. by the close, they come back or

joining me to break it down, dagen mcdowell, don peeb les and arthur brooks.e been talking about the fbi and the investigating the investigators. we haven't discussed enough about china and these tariffs. are you expecting an impact on your business? >> we've seen it with raw materials, steel's gone up and lumber's gone up. cost of construction has gone up. look, there's a price to pay to support our domestic industries and i think that the private sector ought to be prepared to pay some price to support our industries. maria: now we're all focused on the meeting between president trump and xi-jinping at the g-20. that really puts the next tariff deadline right after those talks becausbecause the time frame ims the tariffs would not be implemented until july at the earliest. what do you think about that, i'm talking the additional, on the $300 billion. dagen: that is maybe a small win for people in this country but the fact that this is -- you're staring at potentially taxing at 25% every dollar of imports that comes into the united states, that's a world of h
