yeah well you know i think the dalai lama renaissance does a very good job of capturing the fundamental lesson of that experience. to reflect back on it it was quite an arrogant pilgrimage because we were organized as a group of folks representing a group of thirty of the world's great minds going on a pilgrimage to the dalai lama to tell him what he needed to do to fix the world. and in the course of that experience and the thing that's really brought out very beautifully in the documentary is that the world's problem is western arrogance and . we were you know we need to learn a little bit of humility and you know give people back but other people have control of their lives and resources to use their build their economies based on their wisdom their values and their needs rather than trying to impose western development model so that's kind of my take away from that experience i you know i was always curious you know i've talked many times over the years and it's been over a decade since we were both there we never discussed that it was in any case you taught at the harvard business
