i said i'm from dallas, dallas texas. the first thing they did was raise, they did this and then squeeze the trigger and then said kennedy, kennedy, kennedy over and over again. this is a long way from dallas and it really registered with me. i remember interviewing and talking with the great late author david halberstam. he told me in almost a jocular way i carefully like the dallas cowboys. i thought he had another personal preference but he said they are from the city where the president was killed. this was many years later. i think the city has recovered a lot and have eloquently addressed it. there's a beautiful museum there. if you haven't been there please go. it took a long time for the city to figure out how to heal and to move forward. and i think to grapple with the sense that we probably shouldn't let people in either extreme hijacked the microphone. >> thank you francie my questions and i want to open up to the audience now. if anyone has a question if you could just line up behind his microphone in the cent

this is clyde warn park in downtown dallas.day like this you would think this place is usually packed with people enjoying the weekend. we were here a few days ago and it was 80 degrees. and people were out here. but you know, the streets are very quiet. a number of people out and about. but i think that's probably cabin fever setting in at this point. that's because we're dealing with this ice. i just plucked this off of a chair here in the park. and this is what's collected on that chair. you can see ice this thick and, you know, probably collecting on the roadways as well. that's part of the trouble we're dealing with. obviously power lines have gone down. still a let of people without power. and this is a leaf i just pulled off the ground here, as well. this is a leaf that is completely hardened, i can't even break that apart. in the ice. what happens here is that it weighs everything down. the trees have been collapsing. they fall on power lines. that's why people have been left without power. i want to show you a good pic
