supervisor daly: i am having some of the same issues as supervisor avalos. there is one thing going on from the office of disability, but what hasn't seemed to happen, if we are going to do a significant redesign, this department, what does the board of supervisors want? it has been in front of us before, so we know what we don't want. for all the time and energy put into how to make this accessible, i was never asked whether or not i think this are re should be rearranged to moving forward for future boards. i am not going to be here, but i agree with supervisor avalos, this whole notion that whether a person with a disability needs to be up in some perch looking over the other members of the board of supervisors. whatever number it is, this is a much more kind of hands-on work with the president, these chairs -- i would prefer to see them on the same level that other members of the board of supervisors. i have never been asked that question. it seemed like that would be our presence. i am wondering if we can lower the current perch, why can't we leave it t

thank you, supervisor daly. and i have here with me a letter of determination which i'm going to read a portion of. a new operator may proceed with an application to continue the operation of an existing n.c.d. and a change of ownership will not trigger further review from the planning department or public hearings from the planning commission. what we have here from the acting, i believe acting acting zoning administrator is a violation of the public process that was set up for the checks and balances for our collectives to maintain the compassionate programs in san francisco. we were set up as collectives by the highest law enforcer in california, which is attorney general brown. you cannot have a change of ownership for a collective. and when the collectives don't have to go through the public process, we will once again be back where we were over six years ago with a complete and outraged neighborhood groups and patients who weren't able to assure faith, access and compassionate care. i urge everyone to vote

daly, no stranger to this subcommittee. welcome back. >> thank you very much. chairman harkin, thank you for the invitation to testify. i am here to assert that human cells offer unique advantages for understanding human diseases and are essential to a vigorous national portfolio of stem cell research. however, recent upheavals in the federal funding are disrupting our research and dissuading scientists from entering the field and threatening american pre-eminence in the research. as director of the stem cell transpla program at children's, i wish to first speak to the succe we have in using adult stem cells. and we're using adult stem cells to cure kids with a variety of life-threatening diseases. we perform some 80 stem cell transplants per year for childhood leukemia, genetic diseases, and indeed, we have cured many kids. i was on rounds last week the i met an adorable little girl about to receive her transplant for a very rare genetic immune disorder. and i found out she was the second in her family that we could very confidently say we would cure. so it's

this cool in san francisco and 53 in daly city.he beaches tomorrow looks like a much better day than we a scene today. we'll have mostly signed by the afternoon and fog will be out of here. we will see the ratings for tomorrow. it is a beautiful beach day. and guess what? monday, labor day looks even nicer. we'll see some 70's at the coast. here is fog tracker inside the bay and it should not spread too far inland as much of the cdc will clear up pretty rapidly. by 9:00 a.m. you're already seeing some fog and into the early afternoon the clouds are going to clear away from the coast so it is sunshine for everybody and a repeat for monday with sunshine and even warmer temperatures. again for the north bay in sonoma, it is 78 for san francisco and closing in on 80% for 80s on sunday. 70's, you can be shared then it is mostly sunny skies with low 90s in pittsburgh and a gorgeous day for the south bay temperatures are right about normal. it is a high of 83 degrees in san jose, mountain view is 79. here's a new round of the bay. it is a
