now, about an hour ago, a procession began in daly city. the two caskets draped with flags being carried out of the mortuary. the bodies of lieutenant vincent perez and firefighter paramedic tony valerio are being transported by fire engines to st. mary's. they are set to arrive just before 12:30 for that mass to begin. it is expected to be a 2.5 to three-hour mass. some of the speakers scheduled, san francisco mayor ed lee and anthony valerio's brother mark and fire chief joanne hayes- white. i got the chance to speak to the firefighters union representative about the men being honored. >> we're the odd couple. vince was a former marine, sheriff, and big burly fireman and tony was a pony tailed hippie free spirit world traveler and somehow they came together as a team. two of the most different guys in the world you ever met went in together and they left this world together and they did it side by side. it was pretty touching. they weren't scattered. they were right next to each other when they were found. so they stayed together as a tea

day from san francisco all the way down to daly city.rse have those funeral services of the two fallen san francisco firefighters now. services kick off around 12:30 this afternoon. so for much of the morning what we are dealing with is street closures. city street closures around san francisco especially near st. mary's cathedral. expect street closures near geary and goff. then they are continuing -- the funeral procession once the funeral wraps up through the mission district then to southbound 280 ending at colma at holy cross cemetery. the funeral will last three hours. center 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. expect rolling closures along southbound two two from 101 all the way towards serramonte boulevard. muni riders expect delays along the s-market, j-church, 24 davisadero and 3 geary lines as well as the 31 balboa. samtrans will see delays about the -- delays with the buses, as well. let's talk about conditions. at the bay bridge toll plaza, they turned the metering lights on just before 6:20. so just kind of our usual traffic here. backed up j

i am actually from daly city. i graduated from just a high- school. i do not know how to start, but i am going to go to city next semester, but i did have -- i was registered last semester. i was supposed to come here, but i had to withdraw because my mom had to leave work. she was on sick leave. i had to drop school, dropped everything. i worked out at the daly city wingstop, so i was there making chicken, and i was wondering if i was ever going to be able to go back to school. i went to my best friends graduation and found the bridge to success program, and they had all these opportunities to get me back on track for school again. it was really helpful. i was just so overwhelmed of everything i had to do. the placement tests, registers with counselors. this whole program, really helped me out. just the fact that microsoft is here, and the whole educational system makes it a lot better for me. i breathe easier now to know that i have all this support. just to come from where i was -- i believed that there really was no way. there always is a way. the

so about a seven-mile stretch from 101 towards daly city to serramonte boulevard. hundreds of fire trucks as part of this procession so it could last at least an hour. you can see it is already getting busy in those southbound and northbound lanes. so full freeway closure, none of the on-ramps, all the off- ramps will be shut down. you can expect major delays on 101. if you are trying to head out of san francisco anytime within the next hour, expect major delays along the peninsula, southbound 101 traffic going to be very backed up. this is the route for the procession. now, at last check they were heading onto dolores street next towards the mission, merge onto san jose avenue and that is when they will connect onto southbound 280 then head towards the burial site there in colma to the cemetery. so again, we'll continue to follow the procession but, yeah, expect major delays through city streets in and around san francisco and, of course, on 280 and 101 if you are heading out of the city anytime between now and 6:00. elizabeth, back to you. >> thank you. >>> the f
