daly city could soon become the first city in the bay area to implement a safe zone for internet sales this we are joined by daly city's vice mayor david canapo. thanks for coming. in why does daly city care about this? what prompted in proposal? >> a couple of things that prompted this proposal. there was a daly city resident murdered several years ago over a playstation off a craigslist ad. the second, recently we had about nine robberies. people were being, through fake ads, being lured. what happened is someone would steal their cell phones. and so this is what necessitated the legislation. and so we decided to use our existing -- this is a no cost item. it won't cost the taxpayer a dime. we have an existing video surveillance program. that program currently works. we have two parking spots. we are going to ask local businesses to chip in the $250 for the sign. >> these spots are at the police station? >> yeah, visitor parking spots. >> daly city police station, in case you don't know, it's a big parks lot in front of that big building and it looks like a fortress. so you ask anyon

. >>> we have developing news out of daly city. an investigation is under way into a police shooting. >> it began with a domestic dispute on campus drive and ended with one officer shooting a suspect on st. francis boulevard. nbc 7 abc 7 news reporter joins us with more. >> reporter: in daly city, you can still see the police tape and the police vehicles. now, the shooting happened in the middle of the block over there in the backyard of a home. the suspect was carried into an ambulance from the rear of the home on st. francis boulevard. this is where the officer-involved shooting happened. numerous 911 calls came in to daly city police dispatchers at around 12:45 this afternoon. the callers said there was a possible domestic violence incident at the serramonte ridge apartment complex on 800 block of campus drive a block away from where the shooting happened. police sergeant edward green says witnesses reported a woman screaming. >> the male had possibly been armed with a knife and was chasing her. >> reporter: police from daly cit

we have members of the daly city police joined by the san mateo d.a.l as the crime lab. they are here investigating the scene, the scene of what happened here. it started about 12:45 when there was a domestic dispute between a male and female. witnesses said the man was chasing the woman while armed with a knife. when officers arrived, they found the suspect. the suspect bolted, ran up from the 800 block of campus drive up an embankment and ended up in the backyard of home on the 800 block of st. francis boulevard. there some kind of confrontation occurred in a backyard and an officer shot the suspect in the arm. the suspect's name has not been identified. neither has the officer. what we also know is that this will be part of a multi-agency investigation. we spoke with a police department sergeant short time ago, and this is what he said. >> witnesses reported that the male was possibly armed with a knife. officers shortly arrived on scene after that where they located the suspect. the suspect fled on foot. the officers were involved in a short foot p
