damian, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. marla, the victims kid witnessed the kidnapping. her name is raquel menchaca. she's 15 years old. officers say menchaca got in a car with her 19-year-old boyfriend before that car took off. he's again, 19-year-old leonardo vargas from stockton. police say the girl's father spotted the couple just down the street a while later and when he tried to get his daughter vargas apparently sped away, running over the father's foot. a judge issued a $250,000 arrest warrant for vargas for kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. police believe the 15-year-old is in danger, held against her will. >> we have to look at the age of the victim here. she's a 15-year-old girl who is suspected of being held against her will by her 19-year-old boyfriend so there's always that concern. regardless of the age of it, in this situation because primarily she is 15 years of age. >> vargas is driving a two-door gold-colored toyota sol ara. it has california license plates. the number is 5hbx454. police here

damian trujillo, "today in the bay." >> thank you. it's 5:02. a retrial in the murder of a former nfl player's daughter resumes this morning. the prosecution will continue to present its evidence against the man accused of killing tracy, the dart of retired oakland player. the conviction was thrown out, he admitted to strangling her during an argument. he is expected to take the stand during the retrial. and in san mateo county the trial resumes for a suspect accused of shooting two people for partying too loudly. jesse david wilson is accused of shooting two men back in july 2010. the victims were laughing and talking loudly while canoeing in a lagoon. wilson claims he told them to be quiet, then shot them when they charged at him. the defense says that wilson was beaten by one of the victims before police arrived. >> a man wanted on domestic violence charges under arrest after one of his wife's relatives hit him with a car. it happened in the santa rosa marketplace yesterday afternoon. while police were on the way the relative struck jose with

damian trujillo, nbc bay area news. >> moving story. congratulations and very well deserved. >>> still to come at 6:00, we're going to get to our weather. >> jeff wants to talk about how dry it's been and what a difficult time we're having with the weather. we're still not where we should be. >> most certainly, we heard from mary ann favro earlier in our newscast. she said a lot of reservoirs have water stored up. we're dry from the north bay all the way down to the south bay. there's a little bit of shower activeity on the i-5 corridor. we're not seeing any returns. after three storms in three days last week, we did see numbers bump up substantially. still, very poor when you look at the overall statewide snow pack. as we take a closer look. what you'll find here across the bay area, over the next 30 days is a very dry outlook, below average rain chances for the next 30 days. even in the next 90 days we're trending dry. by all indications, it looks like we'll continue to see some slight drought development in and through the bay area.
