damian: that's great.your thoughts on the fact that charley said, "come on board with chusma house and i'll publish this for you." emmanuel: well, i was--i still remember the phone call. i was kind of in shock, 'cause i met charley and originally gave him the manuscript just to get notes, you know, to tell me some direction, maybe, like, you know, get an agent or another publishing house. and that phone call of like, "hey, i wanna publish your novel," and i was just kind of relieved, but also still in shock. i kind of--i thought he was messing with me. i thought he was just playing with me, because i read some of the publications, or books that he's published when i was in middle school and high school. and when i met him, i didn't really know who he was until he handed me some of the books and i was like, "i read this in high school. oh, i read this one as well." like, that kind of thing. damian: do you hope that maybe somebody who's at the beginning stages will pick up "soledad and the sea" and read it,

damian: we did have sort of a terrifying summer in europe. turkey, france, germany, elsewhere, we haven't seen as many in the past few weeks. what should americans be expecting in terms of the current threat. the biggest threat seemed to be the isis inspired. they are going to get worked up over the internet and then commits of atrocity. what are you most fearful of? congressman schiff: i have a different take on this than some representative been speaking on post 9/11. the emphasis has been on degrading isis in syria and iraq. they are losing ground. this is just going to make the threat worse from this isis around the world. they are going to feel the need to be more aggressive. that may be true. as they lose ground, they will feel the need to continue to recruit people enhance their reputation. that doesn't detract from the fact that it's a very important development that isis is losing ground. they are losing battles. they are losing followers. all of that is very necessary. it's not sufficient. it doesn't mean the end is near. we have to

live in south san jose. >>> thanks, damian. the woman at a center of a sex scandal involving dozens of police officer around the bay area is arrested in florida. nbc bay area ian cohl is going through the police report and joins us live in the news room with more. ian. >> reporter: yeah, janell. she is in florida where she is a patient at a voluntary rehab facility. that's where it started monday afternoon. here is a mug shot taken just after his arrest. according to the police report, 19 year old celeste guap went out and started flashing people. workers tried to get her to come in, but she became violent, ultimately biting a male security guard on the forearm. she was arrested shortly after and is being held or $300,000 bond. in the arrest report deputies say guap was trying to solicit sex from them as transported to jail. she first caught national headlines when she was linked to a sex scandal. guap repeatedly claimed at least two officers solicited sex from her before she turned 18. at least five officers from a variety of
