nbc damian trujillo is at the scene and damian talking about the tenth homicide. >> reporter: a passer bier found the body in downtown san jose. all the homicides this year are keeping detectives working virtually around the clock. >> police are still trying to apiece together san jose's latest homicide near st. james park. so far, few witnesses are coming forward. >> we believe somebody saw something and has information about what happened. >> reporter: the park is popular with transants. they were in south san jose with 26-year-old was shot in this home. neighbors and sources tell us this was an illegal grow house but police won't confirm that. >> state homicide but that's too bad. >> reporter: out of the city's ten homicides this year, police have only been able to solve three and having them back to back means long hours for detectives. >> having two homicides close in time like that does tap our resources. they are working very hard to figure out what happened. >> reporter: now we do have the name of that ninth homicide victim in south san jose a couple days ago, but we've been as

the chase ended at a gas station in san jose where we find damian trujillo. surveillance video of the arrest, right? >> reporter: yes. we're trying to get our hands on that. i saw video footage from the cell phone after cashier, pretty actually dramatic video but he would not share until his boss shows up he says after 6:00 but it ended up here at the gas station behind me. the gas and shop on mckee road. it ended up with not one more shot being fired. police arrested 50-year-old jeffrey ruano saying he is the man that fired at police during a routine traffic stop. the officer was able to radio for help and another officer fired at the suspect but he got away. police could not find the shooter for some time bought tip led them to a white mercedes and the chase was on. the driver led officers through four counties, the incident from the shooting to the chase itself could be heard on scanner traffic. police laid a spike trip for the car and officers arrested ruano without another shot fired. the two other people in the car with him were also detained but releas

nbc's damian trujillo joins us where the attacks occurred. >> reporter: police have arrested three suspectsn connection with those robberies, and they have hired a security guard to keep an eye on things. a lot of rattled nerves here. last night police say the robbers entered the building and held up one of the workers at gunpoint. these are the same guys who pistol whipped a 78 year old woman two weeks ago in the parking lot. it's believed that the suspected robbers have been staking out the center for some time. tonight the suspects are in jail facing assault and robbery charges. some of the bingo playeri playe not want to go on camera but they are relieved that arrests have been made. they will now see if the suspects may be wanted in other robberies in the south bay. the lieutenant says these were men who braszenly attacked that elderly woman two

damian trujillo has the interview and her warning for other online shoppers, damion. >> reporter: that's right. the woman told me she came to this point to buy iphones but left her money at home because she wanted to prevent a robbery. it was a lot of cash. two men pulled out a gun, kidnapped her, took her to the bank and brought her back here with the intent of getting their money. police are still looking at surveillance footage to see if they captured the alleged monday night robbery ask kidnapping. the victim is still in shock over the incident. she asked us not to identify her at all. how scary was it? >> very scary. what do you feel when someone point a gun in your head? >> reporter: the woman says she agreed to meet who she thought was a craigslist seller here but the two men that met her, pulled a gun, kidnapped her and took her to a local bank to withdraw cash. that failed so the men brought her to target. >> they told her to get on her phone to call somebody and provide money. >> reporter: a friend showed up
