i'm dan ashley. carolyn johnson is off.t area are being warned. they were spotted in redwood city this afternoon. the park backs up to farm hill boulevard. leslie brinkly is there live tonight with the story. leslie? >> reporter: that's right. officers went door-to-door warning residents of the mountain lion sighting. and of course the signs are everywhere warning people to use extreme cautioning. in the -- caution. in the middle of the afternoon police got a call from a resident whose house backs up to this park. >> reported the sighting of an adult mountain lion with a cub seen in the park. it was deemed to be a credible threat, so we have taken steps to notify residents and park users. >> reporter: police found no tracks or physical evidence in this park land -- park land filled with canyon hiking trails and adjacent to homes. a perfect collision of open space and suburbs. in marsh of last year -- march of last year a female mountain lion was shot and killed by fish and game officers who said the big cat was jumping hous

. >> and i'm dan ashley. some want to know why it took the utility so long to cutoff the gas.lding on san bruno avenue. lisa amin gulezian is live with why they want answers from pg&e. >> the fire took place just across the street from here. the wooden boards are up covering the damage. some accuse pg&e of making matters worse by not shutting off the gas line fast enough. >> it is like burning really, really serious. >> the fire moved quickly across two buildings on san bruno avenue. it happened after a construction worker hired to renovate one of the buildings tried to hookup a gas line. >> the s explod explodes. >> once crews arrived it took more than two hours to shut off the gas line. something many residents find troubling. >> our lives, theblock could go off, right? i am a lot concerned. >> it will be an issue with pg&e. >> was two hours too long? >> every situation is different. >> pg&e insists everyone follow protocol, and the reason the shut off wasn't immediate was the fire was right on top of the main gas cutoff p and a and a secondary shutoff was used. >> as soon a

i'm dan ashley. carolyn johnson is off tonight.ave already had to put res, and fires, and the season has barely begun. the first was a 300-acre blaze. thomas roman is there live. >> firefighters believe it will be a bad season and people and equipment are on high alert. this fire occurred in a remote uninhabited area of alameda county. firefighters attacked it as people and homes were at risk. more than 200 firefighters supported by firefighters and fixed weaning aircraft brought he heat just off calavares roadment roadment -- road. the flames rapidly consumed the dry hills and brush. the department of corrections was on hand. >> we hit it hard with a lot of resources. the heat we were experiencing, we want to throw a lot to contain it. >> this is the dry grass land that could have caused the fire to consume more than 1,000 acres according to he raises his cattle on the land that is owned by the san francisco water district and came by to check on the damage. >> we need to find out how far back it burned and if we damaged any water
