abc7 news anchor dan ashley has the story. >> come on, charlotte.he goes. >> reporter: when we first visited the jumping for joy program at the marin humane society we met students like zach monty. he was a spirited 17-year-old learning the art of communication, both as a person with autism and a budding dog trainer. >> i told her to sit, and gave her cool treats. >> reporter: the program pairs kids living with autism with dogs. they're given the goal of guiding the dogs through an agility course while building communication and mutual trust. it was all the brainchild of rachel blackman, who launched the program as a teenage volunteer, then watched it take off. >> lots of kids were interested in doing it and the kids that did it wanted to come back. i kind of knew, hey, we can make this bigger. >> reporter: several groups approached the humane society about jumping for joy so rachel and an education coordinator began putting together a curriculum and how-to course how to set the course up. >> the biggest challenge making sure you have the volunteers

abc7 news anchor dan ashley has the story. >> come on, charlotte.re she goes. >> reporter: when we first visited the jumping for joy program at the marin humane society we met students like zach. he was a spirited 17-year-old learning the art of communication, both as a person with autism and a budding dog trainer. >> i told her to sit, and gave her cool treats. >> reporter: the program pairs kids living with autism with dogs. given the goal of guiding the dogs through an agility course while building communication and mutual trust. it was all the brainchild of rachel blackman, who launched the program as a teenage volunteered and watched it take off. >> lots of kids were interested in doing it and the kids that did it wanted to come back. i kind of knew, hey, we can make this bigger. >> reporter: several groups approached the humane society about jumping for joy so rachel and education coordinator began putting together a curriculum and a how-to course how to set the course up. >> the biggest challenge making sure you have the volunteers and dogs y

i'm larry beil in for dan ashley. >> i'm uh may dates. it happened on westbound highway 4 near railroad avenue in pittsburgh. the victim's car crashed through a fence on to california avenue. it runs parallel to the freeway. >> and that's where we find cornell bernard. cornell? >> larry and ama they closed down the road as they investigate this deadly shooting. the victim's car remains here on scene where it came to a stop on california avenue. now police say it likely happened about 8:15, 8:20 when shots were fired at the car. that car was not discovered until a police officer found it. here is what pits ford police had to say. >> he walked up to the vehicle and noticed the subject was shot once. hesed and as far as we can tell he came off the freeway and collided with a fence. >> the possible shots came from a passing car? >> yes. >> and police say it is very likely that the shots came from a passing car. police cannot say where the shots came from. but as far as police know this marks the 18th shooting in the east basins november and t

i'm dan ashley and ama daetz is off. the crash happened this afternoon on lower crescent is avenue in sausalito and right now crews are still working to prevent even worse damage. cornell bernard is live in sausalito with the developing story. cornell? >> reporter: the scene of the truck crash is just up the hill. crews are trying to stabilize a garage there before it crumbles on to the house below. a delicate salvage operation was unfolding. the crews removed a volkswagen van and inside this garage after a giant dump truck lost control and crashed. >> we heard this terrible crash. and so we came up here to see what it was. 24 is what we found. the truck was smashed into the garage. >> reporter: the 50,000-pound truck was carrying hot asphalt on this steep street. the force of the crash pushed the structure off the foundation. this is what it looked like from the back. >> the concern right now is that the garage can still fall into the house. >> reporter: their house is only feet below. crews tied ropes around the garage
