wlwt news 5' s dan griffin is live in milford where school leaders say the teen was "ambitious" and very well-liked. dan, good afternoon. dan: it is a time of grief here in milford. a parent' s worst nightmare come to life. it was along here on state route 126 , investigators say lauren wilfong lost her life at just 16-years-old. ohio state highway patrol says the milford high school junior crashed just after 6:00 last night. they tell us wilfong was driving home from work at indian hill winter club, when she lost control, overcorrected and smashed into an oncoming suv. highway patrol tells us the suv slammed into the right front side of wilfong' s car. we' re told wilfong wasn' t wearing a seatbelt and was killed in the crash. the driver of the suv wasn' t hurt. now, a community, including her peers at milford high school are in a state of shock and mourning. josh kauffman: she was a very well-liked student, very optimistic, always had a smile and you know, it' s challenging any time, but especially when you have a young lady with a such a promising future that was just always so optimi

wlwt news 5' s dan griffin is in park hills with the tough decisions that are impacting parents and teachers alike. dan? dan: for all involved, it' s difficult to figure out what you' re supposed to do when it is unclear at certain schools will go if they are closed. many districts across northern period kentucky are closed. including kenton, campbell and boone counties. school districts we' ve talked with say these decisions are difficult to make, but ultimately come down to to safety. but when school is closed, the concern for parents, where will their kids go if they still have to work? >> it can be challenging, i do work full-time and i' m a single parent, actually so if i don' t , have somewhere for my daughter to go that would keep me from going to work. >> we have an extra 15-20 kids always on a snow day just because there' s all that need for parents to have some place to take their kids. >> some private school districts haven' t called off class so far this morning, including notre dame academy and covington catholic. of course, that could all change as we move through the morning.
