let's sejd it out to dan hausle who is on the scene. he joins us by phone with the very latest. what are you hearing from the scene from witnesses, dan? >> reporter: well, i'm standing just a few feet from that now leaning school bus that is propped up against the house. and witnesses say this bus apparently out of control as it came downhill and around the curb. and then it hit a car that was coming out of a driveway. not expecting the bus to be careening down that road at the time. the bus also took out a mailbox and then it continued down the road with. no evidence of any brakes being applied or working, no skid marks on the road. the bus finally crashed into a house. that house. it did go inside the house. the front of the bus is showing heavy damage. but the rest of the bus is intact. there were a couple of children on the bus. ages maybe eight years old, on average. and they were mostly okay. four, we are told, were taken to the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. they appeared to be up and around and walking. four of them looked like they along with the bus

live in nashua, new hampshire, dan hausle, 7 news. >> anchor: an mbta bus driver assault in burlington over the weekend. the suspect identified as daniel coolic said he wanted to get that he couldn't let anyone off between those assigned stops. so police say he was angry and broke the doors and windows of the bus and then grabbed the bus driver around the neck who later returned to the scene for his forgotten cell phone and that's when he was arrested. >> anchor: dress code drama causing more controversy at boston latin. more than 500 students signed an on-line petition protesting the new dress code that bans several things including spaghetti straps and gang related clothing students and minorities. the school plans to enforce the new dress code next week. two construction workers killed during a watermain break and trench collapse in boston will be honored at the statehouse. officials say robert higgins and kevin maddox will be remembered during a commemoration there next april them were killed when a watermain broke and filled a trench they were working on friday afternoon. >> ancho

dan hausle. 7news. >>> good information. boston police they raised for the rescue. now the nine police officers treated at tufts medical center have been released j jennifer eagan has more on that. as police and suspect exchanged gunfire two officers stepped into danger to save their comrades. 22 of the officers dragged their fellow officers out of the line of fire. so they were in a protected zone. and the officers continued to >>> ambulances rushed to gladstone street in east boston. police on scene did what they could to help the two officers who were shot. >> the officers with a wounded officers were able to quickly administer first aid. apply a tourniquet. one officer had his hand in one of the wounds. i think that was instrumental in getting the officer down to mass general quickly. >> in addition to the two with either minor injury or to deal with the stress of being involved in the shooting. we had a chance to talk to all or most officers involved. they did a good job making sure they were able to do what they had to do as police officers in the city of bost

dan hausle, 7 news. >> christa: all right, thank you. the boston police commissioner is crediting several officers who put their own lives in danger to help out the wounded officers. >> kris: acting very quickly. this morning, the nine police officers who were treated over at tufts medical senter were police. >> reporter: after the police officers were shot, others the police commissioner william evans says officers dragged the two who were wounded to safety as they exchanged fire so they could get inside a protected zone. several assisting officers applied first aid to stop the bleeding. now, as you mentioned, nine officers were taken to tufts medical center for minor injuries. as well as stress. i spoke with one of the doctors there. a psychiatrist who told me that first responders react both physically and emotionally in the moment. that is because their bodies go into emergency mode. as they as well as the safety of others. kit be sometimes difficult to come down off that level of alertness. >> it is difficult to understand what firs
