jo ling kent with that. >>> now let's bring in dan kildee, he's also the chief deputy whip. know, representative, i was just looking at the detroit free press, and in a recent investigation they're saying as many as 139,700 households in michigan at risk of losing their homes. and that's a lot. that's just the state of michigan itself. yet, we don't have it appears an agreement with the white house. how are you addressing this at home in michigan right now when you have these households going, representative, get something done? >> well, you know, this story is correct. people are hurting. i talk to people every day that are at risk of losing everything they have worked for. if they're tenants they risk eviction, if they're homeowners they risk foreclosure. we negotiated in good faith support for these families. a moratorium on evictions. rent support, which is included in the coronavirus package that the house and the senate just passed. we negotiated in good faith democrats and republicans and the trump administration. secretary mnuchin at the table, every single day, came

joining me now is michigan congressman and chief deputy whip of the democratic caucus, dan kildee.ifth district there, largely flint, michigan. congressman, thank you for being here with me. >> thank you very much. >> and happy holidays to you. congressman kildee, do you think that president trump will sign the bill? and if not, what do you think the fallout's going to be? >> well, it's a really good question. we don't know what the president will do because i'm not sure he knows what he will do. the issue, though, is this -- he could make it simple. if he intends to veto the covid relief bill, just do it. then congress can take appropriate action. we can muster the votes, perhaps, to override the veto. it's a bill that we already passed with really big numbers. so, the problem, of course, is that the president is erratic, and he doesn't think clearly. there's something going on with him. >> well, let's dig into that. what is going on? because if i am somebody at home who is dependent on all of these things that are in the covid relief bill, you have steve mnuchin, who has spent a

want to go to the chief whip of the congress, dan kildee. you for joining us on a saturday. >> thanks, neil. neil: what do you think that joe biden should say to these people, many of whom said, republicans, who feel that donald trump did in fact win the election? >> well, i think you know, we have to understand and i think, you know, president-elect biden understands that people have strong feelings, but we ultimately have to make these decisions based on facts and so i hope that's what he says to them. he understands they're upset, they're angry, they wanted another outcome. i remember being in the same position myself. it's not fun. but ultimately, what we've seen is republicans and democrats in positions of authority turn back these claims of mass fraud. here in michigan republican legislators, republican board of canvasser members have said they've seen no evidence of what these folks are alleging, ultimately the facts have to rule and i hope that's the message that president-elect biden delivers. neil: indeed. the georgia lt. governor
